Professional athletes are notorious for having BS height and weight. The NFL is really the only legit measurement because they have a strict process so it's not inflated. I've started to question many heights recently in boxing though.

For example, Pacquiao listed at 5'6 forever, then he is 5'5.5 for the Mayweather fight. Paul Williams listed at 6'1 which was total garbage. The guy was literally a head taller than anyone he fought. But it makes sense because it will make the other fighters more willing to take the fight.

I know at HW there really isn't too much incentive because it's unlimited, but is Klitschko really 6'6? That is a huge man but it seems that even when he fights a guy 6'3 he is so much bigger. Standing next to Fury who is 6'9 he doesn't look 3 inches shorter.

Is this a tactic, is he really 6'6, or is it more so other boxers inflating height?

Fury just looks shorter than he really he is because he's starting to develop that trademark gypsy quasimodo back.

I have stood next to almost all of the famous boxers except for wlad.

I would guess he is a legit 6'5.

Almost every boxer was smaller then you'd think except for Lennox and wilder. Both were a legit 6'5 and 6'6.

Wlad is one of few who doesn't exaggerate height. There a celebrity height page that looks at height in detail and concludes he's about 6'5.5, maybe full 6'6 in the morning (when you're at your tallest).

I think its more a case of Fury not being 6'9 than anything else. He's probably 6'7

Heavy's are really bad about inflating their height. I think they try to get a mental edge on people that way, and I know it helps to sell fights, makes them seem bigger and badder.

I wouldnt be surprised if he wasnt actually as tall as he claims to be, but neither is everyone else.

More often then not when I've met any athlete I've always been surprised by how small they seem, then again I am 6'2. A real 6'2, not inflated.

Human beings routinely lie about their height (women are just as bad). It's more likely that Fury is not 6'9" than Wlad is taller than he claims. He's probably somewhere in the region of 6'7". You only have to look at the way he measures up to Cunningham or Kevin Johnson (both of whom are also likely to be exaggerating) to see that he's not got 6 inches on 6'3". Aside from the circus attraction of claiming 6'9", he's probably not far off it in shoes, a little above 6'8" and rounds up rather than down.

For what it's worth, Fury was listed 6'7" in the amateurs and for a short while on Boxrec, before he started to attract attention. Wlad has repeatedly claimed to be a little over 6'5". As for him being noticeably several inches over Haye, Haye markets himself within the heavyweight division as David to his opponent's Goliath. He adopts a loose posture and drops an inch or two in head to heads to give the impression that he's smaller than he is. He's also not his claimed 6'3", not by any stretch. More like 6'1.5".

Just saw him standing next to Wlad at presser. His height doesn't look exaggerated to me. Wlad's a legit 6'5.5-6'6. Fury looks a solid 3 inches taller than him.

Also, Haye is well known for having one of the most exaggerated heights in the HW's. Listed at 6'3, but 6'1.5 at the very most.

    Wlad's 6'5 I believe.

Marvin Hagler was a fighter I've always thought was about 2 inches shorter than he's listed height. They often used to list him as 5'9 1/2 but he looks more like 5'7 against almost everyone.

That's the only pic I had seen of them together before today...which does make Fury look a lot taller, but really hard to tell as Wlad is leaning in quite a bit in the pic (look at the height of Wlad's left and right shoulders).

Tyson was still a teenager in his last amateur fight so may still have been growing.
