Because Wlad would be all over his back. Wlad hasn't the skills to control Shavers. He'd have to cheat and foul.
It is funny how folks say Wlad would blow away Earnie.That ain't his style. Wlad would adopt a very cautious approach in the first 4 rounds.At his best Earnie would be able to connect on Wlad at some point.Even if he does not land flush, it would put Wlad on his back.That is how I see it. Wlad is not used to face guys with the power, determination and guts of an Earnie Shavers.
Any Wlad destroys Shavers. Shavers doesn't have the reach, speed, technique or chin to take one of Wlad's shots.
If Shavers lands cleanly then of course he wins, the question is would he land before getting KO'ed himself, he didn't have the greatest chin himself. Any version of Wlad is more likely to land first and get the KO, even the pre-Steward version. Shavers didn't have the chin like Puritty and Brewster to ride out the onslaught young Wlad could dish out and Shavers doesn't have the speed to beat Wlad to the punch like Sanders did.
Even if Sanders lands cleanly I don't think he wins. Wlad has shown multiple times that he can get knocked down and come back to win (and win decisively).
What multiple times are you talking about? Wlad only survived Peter cos he ran out of gas early . He had no legs. Cement boots. If he could have moved a little faster he would have gotten Wlad out of there. Shavers moved a lot faster than Peter and didn't tire.
Wlad was knocked down against (and beat): 1) Steve Pannell - KO2 2) DaVarryl Williamson - TD5 3) Sam Peter - UD12 Wlad schooled Peter and almost knocked him out in the 12th. Shavers had horrible stamina.

So Pannell can put him down hard but Shavers can't. Wlad quit against Williamson knowing he was on the way to a loss. Wlad went life and death with Peter and was nearly knocked out. Chambers beat Peter easier than Wlad. Peter was terrible. He gave Wlad more problems than he gave an over weight middle weight. Shavers was more powerful and more aggressive than Peter. The evidence on film proves Wlad would very likely get blown out by Shavers.
A. I didn't say Shavers couldn't put him down. B. Wlad obviously didn't quit against DW. You're trolling with that. C. Wlad was comfortably boxing/beating Peter, but there were a couple dicey rounds. D. Wlad gave Peter a beating of a lifetime. Peter was never the same. E. It's debatable who is more powerful between SP and ES. F. Absolutely no evidence of film proves anything you are saying.
