Someone give me a convincing reason why Wlad should be fighting David Slow Motion Tua please... cause I just dont see it.
Maybe just to stay busy while Maskaev/Peter, Chagaev (hep B), Ibragimov/Holyfield, Byrd/Povetkin, and Brock/Chambers are all tied up. Tua is a big name in today's heavyweight division. I, for one, don't like the idea of this fight. Speaking as a Tua fan, its a bad move on his part. He has a much better chance of beating Samuel Peter, Oleg Maskaev, Evander Holyfield, or Sultan Ibragimov.
One reason is cause Tua has serious knockout power, two he has a top 3 chin in the heavywieght division, the third reason is Wlad has trouble with fighters who have power and a good chin. Brewster,sanders,and Peter.
Sadly, your right about this and this is the source of my frustration. Brooklyn I also think your right, its a stay busy fight. If I could only believe that it would be immediately followed by some kind of unification I could swing it, but I just think these guys are never going to unify. :-(
Tua is still decent and not old for a heavyweight, although he is past his prime as we know. But he still is a tremendous puncher and his chin is still iron. I prefer Wlad-Tua instead of Wlad-Chambers/Briggs/Ruiz/Virchis/etc
As do I. Its as good a fight as Wlad can get until all the other title fights are settled. I hope Tua wins, then Wlad beats him in the rematch. Just because I think Wlad will be better for the long run. And Tua MUST become a HW champ. If John ****in' Ruiz got to, Tua should have at least a few chances .
Right now there isn't but, after beating Tua (if the rumours of their fight are true), Wlad must focus on one of these: a) Ibragimov-Holyfield winner b) Peter-Maskaev winner (but I think Vitali will take this one) c) Povetkin/Chambers/Byrd/Brock winner Chagaev is out of the picture until he announces what he is going to do with his boxing career.
