You got a quote for that? Because I for one believe Vitali is definitely on or above Byrd and Povetkin's level.

*throws arms up in the air*

That's not even what I said. I quit.

    (ACTUAL QUOTES)

Andrew: I hate to detract from what looks like a good drubbing of ManMachine, but are you seriously saying Povetkin and Byrd are on a level with Vitali?

Me: Yeah, I got them on the level

It is irrational to have Vitali at the level of Pov and Byrd as he has beaten people at approximately the level of them, has many more top 10, 20, and 50 wins, and as the loss to Byrd should be counted no more than marginally against him

You had an earlier quote saying at beat Vitali was on the same level. Either way, you are again focusing on a secondary point.

Maybe a better question is, do you rate them about the same on resume or H2H?

    Resume.

H2H is a tough cookie to crack, I don't like it personally as a rating system. Because than you get into the Era thing and size arguments..and bleh.

Cobras quote at the top of page 11 says he rates them at or above Vit. It's toward the bottom of a long quote. It's insane to even think they are comparable. It's worse than saying Norton is on a level with Frazier.

Yes and you asked if I considered them to be on the level. And I told you:

"Yeah, I got them on the level."

    This quote here, you stated:

" he made the crazy statement that Vitali is not at the level of Byrd or Povetkin. "

    BULL****.

Resume it's not comparable either. Vits resume was always underrated, mainly because he didn't have the resume he should have, but it put either fighter to shame. Vitali had about double the top ten, 20, and 50 wins of either Pov or Byrd. On top of that, his top wins were better, his losses better, and his in fight performance were vastly better. Squeaking out a fight against a top 20 guy does not mean the same thing as shutting them out.

Well, let's be honest. If he's going by resume, things get sticky. Because Povetkin, for one, has a very, very good resume. And Byrd fought EVERYBODY.

Personally however, I think it's fairly obvious that Vits > Povetkin and Byrd H2H, notwithstanding the Byrd loss.

Gets complicated when you have to factor in the fact that Byrd actually has a win over Vitali on his resume. A fluke? Yeah, I think so, but a win nonetheless.

I've already addressed this in my posts A. On a level is little better than superior, both are crazy statements B. You said in a different post they were better. Top of page 11

That's a fairly typical, erroneous line from a Wlad fanatic, which comes as no surprise from you.

I didn't argue against Wlad being an ATG.

You jumped straight in on my passing comment about me now understanding why you think Wlad is an ATG. You should remind yourself of the juvenile words of yours that I was responding to when I made that comment.

Naturally, you couldn't help yourself from making a bold statement in response, asserting that Wlad was, of course, a Top-10 ATG - and then adding something along the lines of, the only argument being where in the Top-10 he ranks.

I disagreed with the placement itself and the idea of his Top-10 ranking being an absolute.

That was the sum and the end of it.

A fluky win means something, but not much. On the balance neither has a resume that can compete with Vits, and going fighter by fighter, it's not even close. Look at their ledger, it's about two to one for each.
