I am sure that there are plenty of people on this forum that have the great luck to work within boxing, whether that be a manager, promoter, sponsor, advisor, trainer or a boxer. And I am also certain that there are equally as many of you that would love to have the opportunity to work within the sport and business that you have such a passion for.

Currently, I go to a highly thought of university, doing a degree which should get me places in life (if all goes well). And within that degree programme, I have a placement year where I work for a company and I am basically treated as a normal employee, in a financial or operational type role, except for the fact that I am still just a paid intern. I then use the vast experience I gain within that year to expand on my knowledge and put theory into practise in order to help me in my final year and to give me a greater insight for when I eventually join the big, bad world of business.

Boxing is my passion, if I am not working or socialising then I am reading, listening or watching boxing. And it is a great desire of mine to work within the sport that I have such great enthusiasm for, hence the fact that I am trying to get a foot in the door during my placement year. However, so far my luck has been sour, due to the fact that boxing business is still fairly small compared to the giant companies like Rolls Royce, PWC, Land Rover etc. So far it has left me with a ‘no’ response (in a less harsh wording of course), or no response at all, which is why I am putting this message on here, a cover letter almost.

If anyone is involved in boxing, has contacts within boxing or has networks around the sport and would like to help me further on this then please feel free to PM me.

It would be a proud moment for me if I was to ever have the honour to work within boxing.

Thank you mate, I appreciate it.

I cannot currently gain access to the Hennessy Sport website. I know I am being very cheeky here but do you know of any email addresses that I would be able to contact them through?

    Cheers for the response mate.

I am currently based in the Midlands, which gives me room to work either North or South during my placement year.

Your best bet for the midlands is to pop in a few of the gyms & see what's what.. Get your face put around a little , carl greaves (easy enough to find) does a lot around there, may be worth giving him a shout.

Sounds cheeky also - but asking the matchroom lot too may open doors - I'd guess would be all about wording with those!

If I was young and boxing was my passion, I think I'd learn to box and let that experience teach me something about the business. What exactly are you offering to do?

You can try Box Rec who list managers close to your location, maybe ask them for some work experience? Don't think you will be paid for that one though mate!

Problem you will have is that the vast majority of people who work in boxing only do in part time. I include the boxers trainers prompters officials and press.

I would say only Matchroom or possible F Warrn are at it full time.

Or you could try Sky or Boxnation.

    Goodluck.

Try Boxnation mate as I heard from Terminator X that they need cold calling sales staff urgently.
