World governing bodies...

It's a long story so I'll use the abridged version...

I'm trying to come up with the definitive list of Governing bodies that offer a "World" title...

I've got the following,

WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, IBA, IBU, IBC, WBU, WBF, WBB, WBE

If you can think of anymore please let me know!!

You could go on Boxrec and look up the list of titles offerred on the drop down list on the 'titles' page, there may be one or two missing but most and even a few obsolete ones are there.

 

Theres 2 x WBF, World Boxing Foundation and World Boxing Federation.

 

to many most dont mean squat.

Its for an essay that I'm writing and I just wanted to have all of them for the bibliography :roll:

I think there are also some UBO title?

 

It would be great to know how many paper championships there are!

I remember mitch green had that UBO world title in that show where Tyson was in attendance! He talked as that was real world championship he had there!

it is funny watching these mickey mouse sanctioning bodies fighting for recognition.

 

Dont forget the P4P title which is being contested for by Hatton and Pac.

 

I just visited their website. WOW they have so many vacant title I dont think they can even sell them to anyone.
