I think we need to form an amnesty whereby we don't even mention the mickey mouse belts anymore. Everything is a 12 round fight unless it's for a national, european or big three title.

Surely not, that would be silly.

The Ring belt is not an official title & is handed out by a magazine. Personally I think it's given far too much credence on this site.

The WBO are a mickey mouse belt that, again, is given far too much credence on here.

Does the IBHO recognise the WBO? If not then when Joe gets inducted what will happen to those title defenses?

Nope it's not recognised. Only his fights with Lacy, Bika & Kessler will be recognised as title fights. If you're asking me that because of my avatar just read the writing above it.;)

the ibho website has a link to the wbo website along with the wbc, wba and ibf. don't know if that means they recognise it though. :think

thats what i meant. So if its not the WBC, WBA or IBF belt then its bull****.

I remember at one time Roy Jones had like 7 belts in the LHW division, he must have had an ish load of money to waste on sanctioning fees

The IBHOF mention it but if you look at their archive information they only recognise De La Hoya as a three weight world champion, clearly missing off his WBO "titles" at super feather & middle. This is the correct stance because otherwise they would have to list Herbie Hide as a two time heavyweight champ.

They don't recgonise it. They link to it simply because it's a boxing site. They even link to Sports Network!
