Cotto's gameplan for Pac wasn't very good. He tried to trade way too much when he should have just boxed and used his jab.

The actual gameplan formulated by Richardson for Mosley against Mayweather was actually very good. It just wasn't executed particularly well after round 2. Mainly because Floyd adapted. It's difficult to formulate a 12 round gameplan for Mayweather because he's so adaptable and once he's figured out your original gameplan, you're not gonna be able to stick to it with any success. Which is why you need to keep formulating ideas and switch to a plan B, plan C etc against him. Mosley just wasn't able to do that. He is what he is, an athletic brawler.
I always felt that was a little overblown. Yes, Leonard should've moved more, but he was traditionally more of a flat-footed fighter anyway, and Duran was all over him, cutting off the ring on him. Ray made the right adjustments in the rematch.

What was really stupid about Foreman in Zaire was how he executed the plan of trying to hurt Ali on the ropes. He left himself wide open and was hit repeatedly with clean shots throughout the fight. Not when Ali tired, but with good shots in every damn round from the 2nd round on. He just kept doing the same **** over and over again. I mean, yeah, you have Ali on the ropes and you want to hurt him, but it might be a good idea to tweak your D a little bit when you're getting hit like that.
To me, it looked very like Shane believed he would be able to compete with Floyd in terms of handspeed, and thought he could stand in the middle of the ring with the younger, faster man - and failed dismally and made no attempt to change it up. Whereas if Shane had the energy to even try and do what Oscar (and Castillo) did and keep trying to take the fight to the ropes, he might've made it a bit closer. I thought his approach was pathetic, actually. JMHO.
