i think we should differ between scoring-robberies (whitaker/chavez, hoya/sturm, jmm/john) and "robberies" out of confusion (chavez/taylor, abraham/miranda, rocchigiani/michalczewski). robberies of the second category are always debatable as personal preferences and understandings of how boxing rules should look like can be brought in. for example, i think steele made the right decision to take taylor out of the fight, no matter the red light. maybe it was too early, maybe taylor was confused for other reasons, but this is not for steele to judge. this whole situation is so crazy, there just is no absolute truth. the only thing reasonable one can do is to accept and to feel sorry for the fighter with the bad luck. so overall, category 2 are no true robberies. **** happens, that's what it is. also, trinidad/hoya was no robbery. i head de la hoya ahead maybe 100 rounds, but i can understand that when you've got another focus on how you judge (effective aggression and all that - pff, that's a dreamworld; it's all subjective), you can have trinidad ahead. same goes for a couple of other situations, like when one fighter tries to steal rounds (sometimes i get the impression that some people see this as way of cheating and don't even rate it), or one fighter wins rounds by a small margin while losing others clearly.. all together scoring is a highly subjective thing, and nobody should go so far to call fights like hoya/mosley or whatever a robbery. controversial decisions do not necessarily have to be robberies, in fact, i would say maybe 10% in the end are truly robberies. that all being said, i think, except for the ones i mentioned above, chavez jr against molina was a badass robbery.
Holmes-Spinks II Holmes-Neilson was bad, but not a robbery Ali-Norton III was pretty bad Ottke-Reid is definately a horrible one.
Fights like Whitaker-Ramierez 1 and Augustus-Burton 1 are horrible but being in the "winners" hometowns you almost expect it to happen. Forrest and Quartey was just a ****ing joke Ike did everything better in that fight then Forrest and Forrest even lost a point in just a 10 round fight how them retarted mother ****ers scored Forrest a winner by 2-3 points ****ing pisses me off and turned me off for boxing for a few months cause this isnt the first or 2nd time Ike has been jobbed.
Reid vs Ottke. The worst one I have ever seen. The judges should have been on horseback wearing masks, ****ing highwaymen.
Ried was penalized for slapping/cuffing is hitting with an open glove which is not allowed. Calzughi has the same problem....those punches do not count to a judge because they are illegal.... paterson vs Ellis with only a crooked ref as judge. I had patterson up 10 rounds with one to Ellis and I was being generouse to Ellis.
Yes I thought reid lost...and then he changed his stratigy in round 8 I think it was, then it was Ottka all the way....before that it was execpt for the cuffing punches Reid's fight....and those punches are illegal so don't count. If I cuff you three times in the head and you punch me with a jab to the nose. You win the round....because cuffing punches are not counted, in that they are illegal....how many times I got to tell you that, cuffed punches, rabbit punches and Golada punches are illegal?atsch
