I just read an interview with Winky Wright, and he mentioned both Abraham and Pavlik. He said he is not looking at retirement, and seemed serious about his come back. In another recent article Winky claimed HBO wanted him against Abraham in February. Wright/Abraham does not seem like a particulary fan friendly fight. Winky is defense minded and AA prefers to counter punch, so their styles might make for a rather boring show, but this fight would help sort some things out at 160.

Assuming that Winky still as something left, I think it would be a lot of Winky going jab-jab-jab while AA beats on his gloves. Chances for Arthur to land his big right hand would be few and far between. If he did land, Winky has a very good chin, and certainly nows how to survive if he gets hurt. I think Winky wins a boring UD. Of Course that's assuming that Winky is not shot.

    Thoughts?

Lose-lose situation for Abraham. If Winky is not shot - he didn't look shot vs. Hopkins at 170 - he can pull it off. Great jab, defense, good workrate, not something Abraham likes. No counterpunching opportunities, no room for late round combos, bad style for AA.

Even if he beats WW in a close fight, he'll look bad like everyone else vs. Winky, and I don't see a blowout. Abraham vs. Duddy would be the good fight. For Winky, this could be the opportunity to get a shot at Pavlik.

Abraham will only take this fight if he can't get Sturm. Sturm presents less risk and more reward - nobody wants to fight Winky Wright.

I agree Wright would be a very difficult opponent for Abraham stylewise.

I guess there is an offer on the table for Sturm to fight Abraham. A lot of people say they would be surprised if Sturm takes the fight. You're probably correct that AA won't fight winky unless Sturm turns him down.

Winky, Arthur, and Kelly; now that is an interesting triangulation of opponents.

Damn....this is a bad situation for Arthur...if Winky still has 80% left he will beat both Pavlik and Abraham. And if Winky ain't himself he will still give Abraham a tough fight and Arthur won't get credit for the win.

Maybe you should take another look at Winky's resume'. He has NEVER been stopped. He beat a prime McKart, Mosely, Trinidad, held Taylor to a draw, and fought Hopkins at 170. Arthur is not in the same class with Taylor and Hopkins. Arthur would have to knock Winky out, because there is just no way he'd out box him. Now I'm not saying winky can't be stopped, but Arthur does not have the skills or the style to get the job done.

Agree on Arthur. Disagree on Pavlik. That's a style thing. Abraham's low work rate and counterpunching just won't be effective against Winky. I think Pavlik could play the bully with Winky and wear him down.

What do you think the chances of Sturm taking up Arthur's offer are? Felix seems to be Abraham's first choice right now. If Sturm says yes, Winky will have to wait.

If Winky still has it he should get by Pavlik easy,it would be Trinidad all over.Anyway I think Sturm will fight Abraham, this fight has been in talks for a while and Sturm ain't getting any younger, plus the money is good.

Trinidad did not have Pavlik's size advantage. Tito was a welterweight! Not a good comparison.

And yes the money they offered Sturm is REALLY good. 2.5 million euros. Isn't that $4 million US?

Sturm may decide to just go ahead and cash out. That may be a good option for him right now. I don't think he can beat AA, Pavlik, or Winky, and they are all gonna be gunnin' for him. Especially Pavlik and AA; they both want to unify.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that. It's a fight I hope happens. Team Pavlik called Winky out half a dozen times when Pav was on his way up. Winky ignored them. Before making the Hopkins fight Top Rank and HBO offered Winky $2.4 million plus a cut of the ppv revenue, and he turned it down. I can only assume that winky wants no part of Pavlik, since he's turned him down at least 6-7 times.

Whatever, the man might not even be himself....we''ll have to see how he looks vs Munoz to see what he has left.....it might be just a guy going by the name of Winky Wright.Anyway Pavlik wasn't a name(which he was going after till after Taylor I) and it's not like he took an easy fight vs Hopkins
