Another matchup you don't see discussed too often. Two ATG's at this weight....how do you see it going?

McCallum by Decision. More versatile, had a very good jab of his own, very good technical boxing skills, a lot of versatility, and was a great body puncher. I think he'd work Wright on the inside, and the outside game would be virtually even. I pick McCallum over everyone who's fought at 154, even Hearns. Style-wise, he's the only one who gives Hearns significant problems.

Oh and by the way, LMFAO at Pirlo picking Wright by stoppage. Then again, he's the guy who picked Paul Williams over Hearns.

Mike McCallum wins just about every matchup at 154 almost without question with the exception of Hearns IMO. He was just that good.

McCallum may have been TOO good. Thus his resume somewhat suffers.

This fight has Decision written all over it. I don't see a way for either man to stop the other, but I think McCallum is the more versatile fighter.

I just chose Wright by decision although it's 50/50 and I'd be pulling for the Body Snatcher.

This is why I am second guessing the pick I made 30 seconds ago.

BTW, what is Pea holding in that picture?
    Looks like a bong! :rasta

I think you may underrate the guy you're pulling for. McCallum showed on many occasions that he was one of the most skilled, versatile fighters in the game during his prime. I think he's a lot more resilient than to get beat by a steady jab and a shell defense. His own jab and accuracy, and overall technique, was superb. Very good punch placement, good workrate, granite chin, excellent body puncher. I think the outside game is even, maybe even edge to McCallum, the inside game goes to McCallum for sure.

He really was an underrated, extremely skilled fighter.

 To tell you the truth, I haven't a clue what it is. You'll have to ask Robbi. He has been the supplier of a few of my avatars, this one included. It was originally a bigger shot, more surroundings, but he slimmed it down.

    Again, I agree with you.
