see if hes dropping his hand a little when he punches and youre right he prolly loops a little bit. that would put his hand right where you get hit. or hes being a dick and punching where youre gonna be cuz he knows youre slipping

Punches thrown wrong are much more pridictable then punches thrown by a trained fighter, those who are untrained have the bad habit of giving tells to all there punches since they don't know how to throw them properly; a trained fighter is taught to conceal his punches by not giving any tells.

You've also gotten so used to the speed and reach of who you spar everyday that when you are put up against someone new it's taking your body some time to adjust to the changes.
Like you said yourself, you slip then he hits you at the end of the slip, that just means your slipping way too early when you don't need to because his punches are so slow, your too used to having to slip earlier due to the faster pucnhes thrown by your sparring partners.
Spar with him again and you'll do better.

Well yeah, he can obviously do that. But that's not what the question was about.

it could be a two things.

    1. does he know that you're going to slip? if yes, then he probably knows the moves that you're going to do which is slip left or right. he knows what you're going to do therefore he could follow you're moves. you see the difference between the coach and you're brother is that the coach knows you're going to slip but he's just gonna throw straight punches so you can practice the feel of slipping punches. however, your brother is throwing punches at you and not straight and since he knows you're going to slip he can catch you. you can do two things. 1. tell him to punch but dont tell him what you're going to do. mixed up you're defense parry, slip, duck. I bet he won't catch you much. 2. or just tell him to punch straight.

    2. is you're brother throwing solid punches or is he just feinting and moving his hand to follow your head. if thats the case, correct him and tell him to punch properly and not half assed.

His brother dones't know anyhting about boxing, he wouldn't be that skilled enough to feint and tell where he is slipping.

It doesn't matter if they don't know how to box. I did the same with someone who hates boxing and I told him to punch me while I slip. That person caught me many times because he knew what I was doing which is slipping. You only move left and right. Not many options. you don't have to be skilled.
