In light of the Ricky Hatton is actually a twat vibe reverberating around the forum recently i thought i would start a thread about people's expereiences meeting boxers good or bad.

I met Tyson Fury and Andre Dirrell in the lead up to Froch Direll fight at the press conference Fury was alright pretty quiet more than anything helped himself at the free buffett though ;)

I also met Andre Dirrell who actually seemed like a decent bloke and had a fair bit of time for me even though Gary Shaw was ushering him away. We chatted a bit about the fight and seemed respectful and polite and a fairly decent guy who had time for people even if i was a Froch fan

Big Glen McCrory is a sound man; met him when I was working the hotels over in Liverpool years ago. He was up covering one of A-Force's bouts. I started talking to him about these obscure Thai straweights and other such bollocks, and he said he hoped Sky never found out I existed or they'd be offering me his job. We talked the talk for a while, going over his bout with Lewis etc. It was a laugh. The next morning I was out cleaning dried up vomit off the driveway of the hotel (Sunday mornings in Liverpool, how I miss them), and my back was turned to the hotel entrance. Fair play to Glen though; he came out of the hotel and made a point of calling over and wishing me all the best for the future. He's a good lad.:good

Smigga was nice, had a bit of time to speak, and said hello to my little lad.
Liam Smith was sound too, Bomber was good, although it was very brief.

I met Andy Gray once, in the merry hill shopping centre when i was a kid, and he signed a poster for me. Dead sound fella he was.

Met all the Scottish boys. Burns, Simpson, Limond, Arthur etc all sound fellas. And Billy Nelson was kind enough to pick me up for an interview once and I got chopped pork on toast at his house!

I spent 15-20 mins chatting to Joe Calzaghe and he was sound as ****, talked about his career and what he will do after boxing i.e promoting and tv work, which he has failed at... (Nec Birmingham)

I often speak with Richie Woodhall (7 or 8 times in the last 2 years) who is by far the soundest person you will come across. Really loves the game and loves talking about it also, he is picking green to beat ward by the way and favours him for the super6...
(telford shopping centre and his dads gym in aston)

Finally Ricky Hatton he was a sound bloke who comes out with pre-scripted funny 1 liners, he loved all the attention he was getting, a ****ish stroke he pulled tho was rushing along the people that wanted pictures, 1 guy blinked as the camera went off and collected his photo only to be gutted with the results, he went for another photo and rickys people said he would have to pay £10 again, Ricky then took a photo with him again but there was no chat the second time. He just summoned the guy up, smiled for the photo and moved the guy on. I never really got a long chat going as it was just an appearance session so its hard to base a sound opinion (sportsbar in walsall)

    Again. :patsch:lol:

Met him in a bar in Manchester, acted like a right *****.

Met him, his brother and Kayes in Manc airport 2 years back. I went over and asked for a photo. Hatton was superb and went yeah sure come on over pal. Kayes was at the bar but Matt shrugged his shoulders and turned around. On the photo (I'll try and dig it out) Hatton and me are looking at the camera, that fat headed **** is sat behind us looking away.

Dan, if you have that photo, you have got to put it up here. It will be confirmation of what we all know. That magic matthew hatton is a scally **** who most of us would **** off if he bumped into us in a pub
