Does anyone else think he sounds punchy? I've seen a few people mention it now, as well as Matthew Macklin on Twitter who said he sparred Mack 7 years ago and he sounded completely different to now. Unfortunately I think this might be true, I watched an interview with him and Ellie Seckbach from two years ago, and he was speaking clearer back then. Like I said to Macklin, I just hope Mack doesn't get too badly beatin by Froch.
I didn't actually watch Ringside, I just so a few interviews from the press conference. And 'mongy' is a bit harsh mate.
This guy cannot hold a punch to save his life, it's not that he has a "Glass chin" it's just when he gets hit he loses his **** and falls apart Dont worry though, the ref will be on hand to give the ol' british stoppage robbing us of a brutal ko but saving Mack from the punishment
I think he sounds punchy but maybe he's like Michael Owen and stutters somewhat in-front of the camera. He has a black eye too so he's probably had his arse kicked in sparring.
His speech has definitely deteriorated but as he said he has had trouble sleeping since his flight over so maybe he is just tired. I did just see an interview from 2008 where he said "he was killing himself to make weight". If this is true then its going to be even harder after 4 years at LHW and another two KO losses to be safe at 168. Mack is getting KO'd absolutely no doubt at all.
It didn't help that Johnny Nelson kept asking him the same two questions over and over again for about 20 minutes.
Don't know about punchy but he already looked defeatd at the press conferecne the other day. Seems just going for the paycheck.
He was a very cheeky boy,and I hope Carl gives him plenty to think about when it comes to future behaviour.
"what can the british public expect of you in this fight?" await reply and repeat the question fifteen times making mack sound like a punch drunk mong
I hope it's a foreign referee like in the Bute fight, if anything he let that go on too long..If it's Ian Jon Lewis I won't watch.
He sounded ******ed on ringside, however I think it's presumptuous to say that it is down to being punched. Some people just don't speak articulately and lack vocabulary. It's more when fighters age that speech starts to slur. I have met terry downs numerous times and though he's deteriorated in recent times he was still with it 10-15 years ago and he's from the era of 15 rounders and was a proper world champion not some alphabet puppet!
seems nowadays on here that if you dont sound like you have just puffed on a helium balloon that you are punchy:-( Some people talk at different speeds. In a nutshell. End of story.
