Lamont put a beating on danny garcia and lipinets just stopped Lamont but i would rarther see dany fight mikey considering mikey just beat lipinets. Danny Garcia Vs Mikey Garcia is a good fight, both coming of world title losses. Both have the last name garcia, and mexico vs puerto rico would be huge.
I wouldn't mind seeing Mikey Vs. Lipinets 2 @ 147. Lipinets could possibly have stopped the Mikey that Spence fought.
He did, a much better, younger, and fresher version -- 4 years ago Triangle theory not working here. Styles/fights Lamont Peterson -- at the time they fought -- had the style, skill, talent, athleticism, and overall ability to put one on Danny. Lipinets tuned up and stopped a fighter FAR removed from the one that put his mitts all over DSG. I'm not much of a DSG fan, actually neutral on him personally -- which is rare because normally I back and root for boxers from the northeast first and foremost. I can't stand Angel, and Danny himself has rubbed me the wrong way time and time again the more exposure I've gotten of him. And he has received a pathetic amount of "official" gifts on his record, with the Peterson fight being one in many people's eyes, but the fact is when he fought DSG, he dug himself in too deep a hole on the judges cards with his early strategy of making DSG -- notoriously a counter puncher -- uncomfortably chase him around the ring as an elusive target. And he did just that, but he didn't really do anything besides that in regards to officially scoring in a fight. The whole first half DSG pretty much won solely on chasing after Havoc Peterson. In the second half, Havoc planted his feet more, got his jab pumping and right hand landing, and took control of pretty much every tear up between the two in the whole second half of the fight. That Lamont IMO was clearly a better fighter than DSG. But THAT Lamont wasn't the won Lipinets just worked. And Lipinets doesn't have anywhere near the skill, talent, ability, style, or strategy to beat DSG IMO. Like I said, Im no fan of DSG, but he has one of the best chins in the sport, and Lipinets style, skill, talent, ability, and strategy are pretty much tailor made for DSG and his notoriously world class counter punching ability. Lipinets would come forward and get DSG's hands put all over him and would probably be stopped.
Danny G put the hurt on Bam Bam so I see this fight ending in the same brutal fashion if he fights Lipinets
It makes sense on so many levels, The name's, Mexico vs porta rico, both big names with big fan bases that are super passionate and bring great atmosphere on fight night. Angel garcia would bring the hood out of robert, I can't think of a bigger fight for either of them. Only issue is if mikey really thinks he can hang at 147, its a hell of a fight to be taking after coming off a Spence loss, but he want's to be great right?
Mikey isn't a 147 fighter, but that would be a cracking dust up and I have zero doubt Mikey pieces Danny up. DSG is no ESJ.
That's how Id see it working if Garcia is still the same guy he used to be...I'm not 100% sure that he is. Gun to my head, Garcia 116-112 or 115-113. I think Lipinets is a little better than Granados right now, but it's close enough that what DSG shows in that fight should be a decent enough measuring stick for where he's at now.
