Two of my very favorites of all time, head to head, prime for prime, I can't see how this would not be a war. Would Benn have a chance to end this before the final bell? My prediction in Hagler KO9 after hitting the deck. Neither are the same again. I'm interested in what others think.
his chin much like eubank would keep Hagler in the fight...his superior ring ability would enable him ala watson and Eubank to either out point Benn or wear him down late...I would rather see Eubank vs Hagler
Would have been a great fight .I see it going the same way as Hagler vs Hearns.Maybe a bit longer. Hagler KO6
i think hagler wins this handily.i loved benn but i don't think he does anything with hagler.the marvellous one inside 8 rounds.
Might have been if Hagler had got pasy Leonard. In that situation Benn might have retired a faded Hagler.
Benn had fireworks galore. It's just that we did not see Hagler in real trouble too often. Benn-Mugabi would have been fun, too.
Early Benn gets knocked out in three. Not-so-vicious-but-still-nasty-and-smarter Benn gets stopped around the tenth.
Prime for prime.....Hagler would have a live one on his hands that's for sure, but he stops Benn in the mid to late rounds.
No way is Benn knocking Hagler over when Hearns, Mugabi, Hart, Sibson and Obelmejias all couldn't. I think Hagler wears him down and probably stops him by about round 6. Benn could never hold the best of shots and although Hagler is not a really concussive puncher he hits hard enough so that the accumalation of blows will wear down all but the most durable.
Benn would find it very hard to win this even on his best night and haglers worst, that tells the whole story here. Hagler 6th round stoppage. I agree with the earlier poster eubank vs hagler would be more interesting and would probably go the distance in a 12 or 15 rounder, even though Hagler would win a decision.
