I know this is a really random question but does anyone happen to know when the standard boxing ring changed from having 3 ropes to 4?
It was in 1963 that the WBA announced that four-rope rings should be the standard, but I think it took several more years for the various commissions to make it a reality.
If my memory's correct, Ali vs. Liston 1 (1964) was the first Heavyweight Title Fight with 4 ropes. Someone can correct me if my memory's faulty (very possible).
