As much as it pains me to say it... The wars, injuries have taken their toll. Peak Whittaker would have done away with Till inside 2 rounds. Still think he could give us some good fights but not sure he'll be able to win gold back. Based on recent form I'd pick Romero in a trilogy fight.

Agreed. He's lost a big step. What next for Till?

Doesn't lose much stock, rises if anything being competive and lasting the distance with a former champ. Certainly another top 15 fight.

Robert vs big guy strikers like Till, israel , wonderboy or Hall ; he either loses or goes the distance. I dont think he ever looks good against these type of fighters. His ideal matchups are against grapplers who turned strikers .

Probably fights a top 10 guy for the next shot. He might get it as is. Dana seems to like him.

The way he lunges with punches looks like he is trying to bowl a cricket ball. Chin wide open, Izzy beats him the same brutal way every time. He seems like a smart bloke but why not straighten the punches and tuck the chin.
When he did throw the odd straight jab it looked sharp. Other than that he's another brutal knock out waiting to happen.

He seems a bit delusional about his "skill set" all i seen was the same wild swinger that was KTFO when he lost the title.

I think he gets a pass on not being sensational this time.

When he lost to Izzy he had been out for like a year with ill health.

Then he had "burnout" and another year off almost. Needs ring time.

Pretty much this, Whitaker is clearly still 1 of the top few middleweights in the world and despite the personal issues etc that have plagued the last few years of his career, and while there is some very valid points in the thread, especially referencing some poor technique with the way he wildly lunges forward etc, the fact remains he is no more then a fight away from a title fight after comfortably beating a good opponent despite still being rusty and well below his best.
Whitaker has been in couple of wars with Romero etc but he is only 29 and still has a good chin, easily taking a few decent shots from the big hitting Till and if he can overcome those injuries and personal issues,he's definitely capable of improving on his performance against Adesanya, which has been mentioned was his 1st fight back after a long absence and I think it's pretty foolish to write him off at this stage.

 That's not even close to being true and even for you that's a horrible take on the subject lol.
Whitaker is an outstanding fighter and role model, universally respected by his peers and the fans, because of the way he carries himself inside and outside the cage, his skillset and the toughness he showed beating a murderers row of all the best middleweights,on his way to becoming Australias 1st UFC champion and 1 of the top p4p fighters in the world.
It's no surprise to see you tho with a typically negative incorrect view about 1 of our top fighters and athletes,Whitakers record speaks for itself and he clearly deserves every bit of the respect he recieves in this country and around the world by people who actually know what they are talking about.
