For anyone interested on Sky Demand there are a series of Pro Box programmes featuring: Herol Graham v Julian Jackson Michael Watson v Chris Eubank Azumah Nelson v Jim McDonnel John Davison v Steve Robinson Nigel Benn v Mauro Galvano
Channel 5 have got Pitters/Richards on the November 14th. There is rumoured to be a card in December as well. Not sure what on earth Sky are doing with their schedule at the current time.
This is one of the most improtant bouts in boxing in the past couple of years, yet no British TV channel is bidding for the rights to show this bout, is this a disgrace to boxing?
They really should play it live in Britain. How much demand is there for boxing at 4 in the morning though?
ESPN, so cable. Also not the subscription service ESPN+ where they put a lot of fights. This card is available to a huge number of people, and will get hyped all day long during every ESPN/ABC college football game that day. This is going to do BIG numbers I promise you. There is no way they start the main event before the end of the Alabama vs Georgia game that day either. That starts at 8pm EST, so Loma and Teo will not be coming out until at least 11pm. At that point in time everyone is wasted and wants to watch people get bashed up. I rest my case.
A bout if shown live on terrestial television in UK would be at 3-4 am, it has 2 competitors who are not British so no supporting a Brit buzz, to boxing fans it is a big bout, however if you asked a hundred folk in the street who either of these boxers were, you would be lucky if a single person actually knew. So no it is not a disgrace.
There are no dumb questions when it comes to watching a highly anticipated boxing match. It’s on ESPN cable.
