I agree with all that. I think Wilder nails him but may have to weather a storm first. No guarantee of getting through that storm either. Fury keeps him on the end of the jab all night. Can't see Ruiz landing on Fury. As I said last night; there's a strong argument that Ruiz should be unbeaten. Arguably beat Parker in New Zealand. A hidden gem is right. He beats up Whyte IMO.
Ruiz after 6 rounds, against the elite, I'm sorry but I can't see him being able to do enough. Wilder and Fury would expose him and I think AJ will in the rematch too. He's enjoying his moment, and he deserves it, but that is not the ingredients of a World Champion that can go on to have multiple defences.
Nobody gave him a chance against AJ so let’s see where his ceiling is before we write him off again. I can’t imagine him being able to get to fury in a boxing match but who knows.
I think they'll put him in with a tune up that doesn't hit hard at all and is no risk, on Sky sports rather than PPV to get his morale and public reception in him back to a better place. As washed up and perpetually lacking as Price is, he still could realistically bang for a round or two (lol), and if AJ was to lose to him, that really would be curtains on his career. Not what I'd want to see it, but if Browne had beaten Allen a CV of his sort, someone with a KO record that looks a risk to the average Joe public but really isn't. Such options seem thin and he's already beaten the Cornish and Breazalle type. I can see this route being the most likely and sensible from their perspective.
If Price landed it would be curtains as he has exactly the same reaction as Price when any punch lands - no energy, no confidence, no stamina and no heart. The first meaningful punch landing wins the fight.
Very true but I don't see him pulling anything off like that again, people are aware of the threat now and what to avoid. Fury is clever and Wilder has the range to get by him even if he's boxing dumb, AJ put Ruiz jnr down and if he was on his game he'd have finished him, Wilder would destroy him after a knockdown, just my opinion of course, I could be way off.
Fury can handle Ruiz because he is an elite level heavyweight and a few steps up from Joshua in skill. I can picture Ruiz giving Wilder a difficult night until Wilder inevitably landed his equaliser. So I’m not really disagreeing as such but I think the bit that should be added is that Joshua isn’t as skilful as Fury or has devastating as Wilder. He struggled with Ruiz because when his power wasn’t enough to put Ruiz away, he ultimately lacked the ring IQ and boxing skill to negate the small fat fella with the fast hands.
Ruiz is a very good fighter but AJ made him look much better than he is. AJ was awfull in that fight, the worst I've ever seen him box.
Prior to Joshua-Ruiz fight I probably would have given Ruiz a very good chance of beating Wilder anyway. Although I figured Joshua should be able to beat Ruiz with reach a boxing skills (skills which Wilder lacks ... and apparently Ruiz can handle easily anyway). Wilder-Ruiz is at least a 50-50, maybe Ruiz a slight favourite for me. A better-prepared Fury boxes Wilder's ears off. I reckon Parker could well beat Wilder up too. I can't buy into the "Big Three" thing at all. Joshua is shown to be a bust in that regard. I still think Wilder is vulnerable (but has the puncher's chance against everyone) ... and Fury, maybe the best of the lot, could well get complacent fighting these C-level guys and get a shock somewhere too. NONE of the "Big Three" were ever proven enough to justify the concept anyway, in my opinion.
