This survey is specifically addressed to the members in the classic section (so i hope it can stay here). I just wanted to ask you about your favorite boxing movies. it's not so much about cinematic quality, but simply how much you like to watch them. I think for example Raging Bull is a masterpiece...but from the 're-watch-ability' factor it kinda suffers from its tediously character (But that's just my opinion). You have up to 5 choices. Feel free to use all 5 choices...or just 1-4 if you think the other films doesn't deserve a vote. I hope this isn't too stupid, trivial and superficial for you, but i really wan't to know what classic boxing enthusiasts think about it.
Out of the ones listed it's Raging Bull for me. The Hurricane is hands down the worst. Lots of B.S especially the Giardello fight. The movie alludes to it being a fixed fight and that Carter should have won which is not even close to true. Giardello won pretty convincing. I don't know if Carter killed those folks or not but he certainly was no angel and he certainly did not get a raw deal against Giardello.

I like all those movies almost equally but I picked rocky 3. Some epic characters in that film and the idea of a former foe coming back to train rocky was cool.

None of the above! For me, I've always been a sucker for the original 'The Champ'. Wallace Beery looked and acted just like a drunken, washed-up pug would.
None from the list. Requiem For A Heavyweight (1962) Jackie Gleason, Anthony Quinn, Mickey Rooney, and Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) and The Harder They Fall (1956) Humphrey Bogard, Rod Steiger, and Jan Sterling. It reminds me of the start of Gerry Cooney's career.
I got the move from a Dollar store on DVD for well 1 Dollar lol. I enjoy it. Odd the DVD says Joe Palooka, but the film calls it Palooka.
