Whyte should win. Povetkin is off the juice and clearly looks a little droopy these days. But, should Povetkin win, he'll have the unique distinction of being an Olympic gold medalist and two-time heavyweight champ ... without really winning any of those actual titles in the ring. His gold medal opponent was injured during the semifinal and didn't show up for the fight, so Povetkin won the gold via walkover. Then he won the WBA "regular" belt (which is currently held by Charr) during an era when Wlad Klitschko was the actual WBA Champ, and, should he win Saturday, he'll pick up Whyte's WBC "interim" belt during a period when Tyson Fury is actually the WBC heavyweight champ. If Alexander pulls the hat-trick Saturday, never will the phrase "Olympic Gold Medalist and two-time Heavyweight Champion" ring so hollow. (LOL)
Why is the big talk about Anthony Joshua being ringside? Whyte is calling out Fury after this... Just promoting Pulev I guess. Fury should gatecrash and call them both out to a bare-knuckle in Eddie's back garden, would be brilliant.
Whyte looks too big for Povetkin for me. Hopefully Whyte is clean but with no testing done who knows. Late stoppage or UD for Whyte.
This need to dismiss & disrespect HWs who are as big or bigger than almost all of the greatest HWs before a few guys starting from the 1990's is insulting stupidity. I have to wonder if it is little guys with a size complex, or big guys whose Egos are all about their size & the gym, lol! It is asinine to say anyone who is not ~ SHW size should lose a few lbs., then weight drain to make CW before a fight. Nah, if the money & glory is where the best guys in absolute terms fight, more power to them! I like that some men might won without massive physical advantages, due to skill & toughness. Except if someone is an unrepentant 2 time PED cheat, I cannot root for him. Complain abaout that-a man lying & essentially stealing the place & spotlight from clean athltes who refuse to drug up. Instead of fetishizing size regardless of talent & ethics or maybe how they got so big.
Whyte appears to be back on the juice. Rooting for Povetkin, but he's well past his prime, nearly 41 now. Prime Povetkin would wipe the floor with the loud-mouthed Whyte. That's why Whyte is fighting him, he prefers to fight men past their 40th birthday like Wach and Povetkin.
Wlad's the only fighter that beat Povetkin easily, and Wlad was running the division at that point in his career. I'd honestly be impressed if Whyte doesn't struggle with him.
I route for Whyte for the first time ever and meme him my energy and he gets flattened again...man. What a punch.
