It´s not always as sinister as you make it out to be. (I am not defending Canelo here, just want to talk about this topic)
With smaller shows, the gloves are often dictated by the promoter.
In case of someone like Floyd, he did not like certain gloves because of how thin the knuckle are was. Or how thick the padding was.
When it comes to ring sizes, I think the standard pro rings range from 16 to 24. So if they meet in the middle then it should not be a big deal, unless they agreed to something else. Of course Saunders would like to have as much room as possible and Canelo would like the opposite.

Proof that things like ring size matter a lot more than the fans think.

This fight is going to happen. BJS would ruin his career walking away from this fight! This is the biggest fight of his career.

Well if the ring size didn't matter to both fighters it wouldn't be an issue

Canelo had to move down to 152 for Mayweather
Canelo had to take a fraction of what Cotto was getting paid to get him in the ring
Canelo had to pay GGG 5 times his biggest payday to get him in the ring

Why can't BJ be like Canelo?

In smaller shows I think the fighter has less pull anyways. It’s on the grand stage where the fighter calls those kinds of shots to get the advantage which is unfair. My only issue is people ignoring the aspect of it being an even playing field, based on if one likes a fighter or not, when we know it’s not.

From the British board of control website

3.4 All contests shall be decided in a four-rope ring not less than 16 foot nor more than 20 feet square and with the ropes joined together in the centre of each side.

So you can’t claim a 20 foot ring is too small. It is the maximum size ring for British title fights.

It has been resolved anyway it was all mind games

You guys don't believe any of this do you? It's all part of the promotion. Fight will happen as scheduled.

Earlier today, it was reported that Billy Joe Saunders and his team had a problem with the ring size for Saturday’s fight with Canelo Alvarez at AT&T Stadium in Texas, and then there were reports that John Ryder was on his way into Dallas and ready to step in to replace Saunders should push come to withdrawal on Saunders’ end.

But it looks, predictably, like things are going ahead as planned, as Saunders has updated via social media and sounds ready to fight.

“Just want to say I’m pleased the issue is sorted,” Saunders said on his Instagram story. “The ring is not a problem. Thumbs are up.”

Sheesh.... when did so many boxing fans become drama queens?

The whole thing is a plan by BJS to try to get Canelo emotional. His team have said numerous times in fight week that they plan to adopt a matador vs the bulk strategy. Best way for that is to get Canelo emotional and wild. BJS best chance in this fight is to hit and not be hit. He will try to do what he did to lemieux as he knows he can’t trade with him as he doesn’t carry the knockout power. It’s all to try to make Canelo reckless

    This.

They did exactly what they intended - they got people talking about the fight, and as an added bonus many people are now picking sides.
