I feel like Ali and Louis are the only clear cut choices for 1 and 2. 3 and afterwards is pretty much interchangeable and mostly based on preference. Joe Frazier and George Foreman have better wins than most but had short reigns. Wlad Klitschko and Larry Holmes doesn’t have that elite win but had long reigns as the HW CHAMP.

 

With these lists, I feel like you have to clarify if you’re doing it based off resume or head-to-head predictions.

 

I'm always a bit puzzled on Fraziers all time ranking, he has that massive win over undefeated Ali, but what would you class as his best body of work after that?

I couldn't find any way of ranking him above the likes of Ali, Louis, Lewis foreman, Holmes, holyfield, Tyson, Vladimir, Marciano etc

Then I think there's another group of heavyweights you could debate about like bowe, Vitali, fury etc

 

Pre 60s - Dempsey, Johnson, Marciano, Louis, Gene. 60s - Liston, Ali, Floyd. 70s - Foreman, Frazier. 80s - Holmes, Tyson. 90s - Bowe, Lewis, Evander. 00s: Wlad, Vitali. 10s: Fury.
Its unfair to compare fighters from different eras. Tyson and Liston's peak were def top 10 of all time, but they didn't have much longevity. Wlad and Holmes had longevity but didn't reach the heights of Tyson. We should build a linear graph and calculate the area to see which one was greater, heard they've been working on that on MIT

Yep, same beliefs as me. People put guys who weren't close to the best of their era over guys who dominated for years and years simply because of "the eye test", like these types are known to predict well lol.

 

Tyson Fury in the top 10 despite his best win being 40 Year old Wlad. LOL.

No one in the current era should be in the top 10. Usyk may be able to get into it if he beats AJ and Fury.

 

I really hate how people consider beating the same fighter 3 times as the equivalent of beating 3 separate opponents. No it ****ing isn't.
