Hearing from couple of sources likely official announcement soon from UFC about his return, with Mcgregors gym already announcing they will be closed to any non members, presumably for Conors return to training,he will probably be fighting against Cowboy which is very winnable fight for him.

It most likely will be Cerrone which is really weak from McGregor and tells you all you need to know about his mindset and his skillset/ability these days. If this was the McGregor of 5 yrs ago that was tearing through the UFC it would be "give me Tony, give me Masvidal, give me Gaethje" and the fans would be buzzing but all I hear out of the bloke is "Give me Frankie Edgar". WTF dude you are done.

Overall the fans have done a U-turn on him with his nonsense over recent years and if he had the balls to take on one of the 3 fighters I mentioned it would be a start in earning back some fans and he would gain some respect back for taking them on but imo in 2020 all 3 easily stomp him.

Agree completely. Although on the flip side it would be nice to see Cowboy get a nice payday and one last big opportunity.

I seriously won't believe Conor is back until we see him standing in the cage. Dude was never the same after getting that Mayweather money. He still likes the idea of being a fighter but wouldn't be bothered some days and would rather party.

If it’s not scripted like a WWE match? Cerrone could well beat McGregor anyway.

You might be right. That's why he at the very least wants easy fights at 155. After Cerrone they'll probably set up a fight with Diaz there before maybe setting up a Khabib rematch.

It's funny really once some of these fighters hit the big time they then basically refuse to fight. They go to the gym and still train but what is the point when you never fight. Look at how little fighters like Conor, Cruz, Cain, Zingano etc etc actually fight. Don't they realise that you get paid ZERO unless you actually fight for the ufc/fans ?

With Conor - Cerrone I honestly think it is probably a 50-50 fight. I certainly don't expect much from Conor these days and we all know he is 50 % the fighter/punching power after the 1st rd but no doubt Cerrone will fight dumb and look to slug it out. Cerrone did go 2 full rds with maniac Tferg fairly recently and was still standing until the doctor intervened. I wouldn't be that surprised if he beats Conor.

Imo the ufc should put in place a rule that champions MUST defend within say a MINIMUM of 9 months (or at least have a fight confirmed/signed) or they get stripped, no exceptions. In the event that a champion is injured then bad luck you are stripped although you get an immediate shot at the title when you are healthy and ready to return. What Cruz, Conor, Cain etc etc did to the ufc title is a complete joke and holds back other worthy fighters of their chance. You're not ready for whatever reason to defend within a reasonable time frame to keep the ball rolling in the division then tough luck your out.

Agree! All this holding on to belts and interim titles are becoming annoying.
Other than a serious injury, there's no reason why a title can't be defended in a 9 month period.

Yep it’s become a thing now to all but retire and then come back when it suits.Dana White is obviously in on it as how many times has he said Pierre what’s his name won’t come back.

Absolutely. Realistically these champions should be defending once every 4-6 months so either twice or three times a year not once a year. WTF. I don't get their mentality you earn $$$ when you fight so the more you fight the more cheques you cash. You don't get paid anything for not fighting. It's weird really.

I don’t think Mcgregor will ever get in the cage with masvidal.
Hoping after khabib beats Ferguson he steps up and fights masvidal. Perfect showcase fight for him.
I don’t see anybody beating masvidal at this time at 170. Said it before the till fight and still feel that way.
I think Covington will beat usman. I’d really like for usman to win though. Just to show all the masvidal haters that a guy that cuts that much weight will not take those body punches or kicks. Till couldn’t handle them, usmanwont either.
