And as ive already said, buatsi had a longer amateur career, over quadruple the fights. Yarde on the way to his 2nd world title shot now while buatsi fights frank buglioni’s leftovers
imagine upon starting this thread you told someone in 4 years time Buatsis best opponent would be Craig Richards. Hysterical
So what? so have a lot of others like Lee McGregor. tyson fury was pro for 7 years before he boxed for a world title. It’s means nothing. He’s building the right way injuries aside
These are his prime years now at 28 after 15 fights and he needs to crack on before he ends up another Anthony Fowler
This thread aged like fine wine. Funny seeing the first few pages of matchroom defenders saying he was still young and about to get huge fights, 5 years ago
He was offered big fights at Matchroom though - Jean Pascal, Dmitry Bivol and Callum Smith, but he turned all of them down.
This Buatsi thing is done from what I can see. He sounded corny as fcuk today in all honesty and he’s going nowhere. 16 fights in 6 years is pitiful. He will likely be fighting a bum in May, so there’s no interest from my point of view.
I understand criticism of Buasti turning down the Smith and Bivol fights and it's deserved criticism. However the posters critcising him for the amount of fights he has had (seemed to be Wilder and Fury fans) of which at the time of their 17 fight Wilder fought Damon Reed and was 15 fights away from fighting for a world title. Fury in his 17 fought Pjakic (who dropped Fury).
