Finkel saying they are in talks with a three fight deal with Showtime that just as lucrative deal if not more than DAZN even if he doesn't fight AJ.

I can't see anyway that could be true unless Showtime are prepared to lose a hell of a lot of money.

I really do hope one of these lower level opponents that wilder is going to line up in the likes of Breazeale, Kownkacki etc can pull off an upset so we get the chance of seeing a unified HW champion.

The biggest question regarding the finances behind these latest figures that seem to pop up almost weekly is how the fighters involved can generate this money, and if they can't, why are the networks seemingly intent on paying so far over the odds.

That's obviously on the proviso that the figures are true, but who is Wilder (and Fury for that matter) going to fight to do the sort of business that's being talked about? Wilder is now back on a non-PPV card against a guy Joshua destroyed. The opponents for Fury which are being mentioned just sound dire. These are middling fights with little interest.

Why worry about how networks are going to pay? That's up to them.

I agree with all the shitty fight
    Fury v A bum
    Wilder v Brezeale
    AJ v Miller

all are awful fights and do nothing for the division at all.

It’s a valid point because it doesn’t make any sense what so ever from a business point of view therefore 99.9% certain they aren’t. The Showtime budget for boxing per year is about 60m per year for everything so for Wilder to be given anything near DAZN style money just isn’t happening which makes it even more obvious that he don’t want the AJ fight. Unless Espinoza has convinced his bosses throw him an extra 50m in this climate for someone who sells 300k PPV buys WITH a dance partner and struggles to fill out arenas in Alabama.

Some of the questions I would be asking if I Wilder about the 100m are as follows -

    1) what would have happened if AJ lost to Miller? Is the contact null and void or is wilder still locked into another 2 fights for the same/less money.

    2) Has AJ agreed a deal for the fight and if so how much is he getting.

    3) what happens if I lost to Breazeale..what’s the plan going forward.

Listening to Finkel, they didn’t get an answer to question 2..it’s no wonder it wasn’t agreed.

To answer question 3, I saw on Twitter from one of the American journalists (can't remember who) saying the deal was for him still to fight Joshua, even if he lost to Brezeale. That's how badly DAZN wanted him to sign.

I wonder if that's because the plan was that Eddie had Whyte lined up for Breazeale should that happen? He could then fight Breazele and the winner would've faced winner of AJ v Wilder? Guess we won't ever know.

What I said makes sense whether people want to hear it or not. He has rejected 20m for his mando and opted for a much smaller payday of probably 3m if he is lucky. Utterly mind boggling.

What questions would you ask about the showtime deal?

I hope all of the fights of the main 3 utterly bomb big time. We might see some more co-operation between them all then. Won't happen though.

This. It’s painful watching people celebrate Wilder/Fury signing mega deals to fight cans just to stick it to Hearn. **** Eddie. I don’t care whether it’s Fury/Joshua, Fury/Wilder, Joshua/Wilder. I want to see the best fights in the division happen. Every other fight in the division is a foregone conclusion.
