Looks like DAZN are planning Daniel Jacobs vs John Ryder now to coincide with their UK launch.

Agreed. It’s a very good fight and as for subs, even if it was a Canelo vs Smith/Saunders it wouldn’t do many subs. Without football over here you’re ****ed.

It's a good fight but looks like Hearn is testing the waters with his other fighters. Kind of like throwing Ryder to the wolves, I don't think he particularly wants to be stuck with having to potentially do a Smith v Ryder rematch down the line.

Jacobs isn't getting any younger either, so a win-win for hearn imo regardless of the result.

Agree they will struggle without football I think the long term goal is to get the Euro rights of BT in 2024 that is what they have done in Germany where they also hold Bundesliga rights.

Eddie's got sky by the bollocks lol

For their business they need to do everything they can to kill DAZN UK off.

But Eddie's pulled the fake mates trick with them. He's even got his own mob and yes men in as the broadcasting team.

The shift in power dynamics is crazy, as SKY used to treat the promoters like pawns. It's like Lucky Luciano and his young friends killing off the old time mob bosses.

LOL Joe saying 4 times a year, Callum has fought 4 times in 3 years now and only 1 of those is against a genuine top name. Complete waste of a career

Smith is partly to blame. After the Groves fight he was at his most marketable but he decided to take time off when his kid was born. You can't begrudge him that but at the same time he can't expect people to remember his name two years later. Can't have everything in life.

Sniths best year was 2015 when he fought Fielding and Rebrasse.

You'd of thought he'd of been ready for a world title in 2016 but he fought 4 times and went backwards in calibre of opponents and I don't know why, was a complete waste of a year. Then he fought once in 2017 against Skoglund in the WBSS quarters.

I think Groves is his only legit top 10 opponent win since 2015? I don't count the Ryder fight as he clearly lost it.

He will be 31 next April, only needs to waste another 1-2 years then he's 32-33 and I honestly think he's outgrown SMW now.

If were being honest, SMW has to be one if not the weakest division going at the moment. About half of the top 10 are career middleweights.

DAZN should have approached Al Haymon or Stephen Espinoza.

They messed up by going to Eddie.

It's one thing doing well in a country like the UK, but the United States is a different planet. Eddie Hearn went to Miami to host a boxing event, what kind of boxing promoter goes to Miami to host boxing.

The WBSS was to blame and the money it guaranteed.
Do you think if Smith was coming off the Rebrasse or Fielding fights and had a kid he would have took so long off?

Someone said in another thread about boxers being paid to much and someone asked what the problem is.

Well here it is. Laziness and unwillingness to fight other fighters except for massive money.
