    Sum up no fans?
    He clearly has a following
Not as much as Joshua but we know that
    But he is doing fine
Might even end up on Forbes list of he keeps this up

It's not meant to be taken literally. But to give you a hand, Fury has never been a big ticket seller or done big PPV numbers. He might be a funny guy out of the ring at times but his style is boring and the numbers just don't provide any evidence to him being popular. Against Pianeta he was booed out of the ring. His rematch with Klitschko sold terribly. His first fight with Klitschko was seen by fewer people on UK television than Usyk Bellew. Sales for the Wilder fight were never revealed domestically but rumours are they were pathetic.

Either way, the question remains. If Fury was a Joshua type making millions against Parker, Takam and so on you have a guy who can be drawn out to maximise income. Can you do that with a guy who can't sell half of his home town Manchester Arena against Wladimir Klitschko for a world title fight? Especially if he's largely based abroad?

    Don't go overboard then
If a Fury fan did you would be very quick to point it out

And thanks for the helping hand offer
Lucky for me I dont need it so I'll decline
Your right Fury has bombed at various times in his career
But who's to say Fury version 2.0 won't do better?
I think he will but not as much as Joshua which he will be cained for
Which is ridiculous as to his credit Joshua is a phenomenon and a once in a generation type fighter for the UK
He is also boring to you but some like him
Stop assuming your opinion is the mass opinion
It quite possibly is but the way you carry on is that its gospel
How can you compare a fight from a good few years back to a recent one in Uysk vs Bellend?
Your clearly not daft and have seen the huge strides taken in promotion in UK boxing since then so to have more viewers is a testiment to the Matchroom team and not really a knock on the fighters for 4 years ago surely?

Look I quite like Tyson and even I think the numbers do t quite add up but so what
I saw a staunch Matchroom fan and Hearn. Loyalist say something along the lines in regards to DAZN paying Wilder 15 mill to fight Brazil nut "it's irrelevant if it works the important thing is they Can pay it"
I'm sure that's not word for word but you get the gist
Let's be honest we don't know feck all what goes on behind closed doors so there must be something out there that these large companies see that makes them think that the investments they are making are worthwhile

I'll never know and I know your interested in that side of things most probably most than me but neither will you

And America is a new market for him
If a product does not sell in one market then that hardly means it will not in another
Look back at say a company like Segas success in the 90s in Europe and Brazil compared to the flop in the US

    It's a new oppertunity regardless

America may indeed be a new market, but I don't see how a guy who a lot of (not all) people think is fairly boring as a spectacle.

I compare Fury in fights like Klitschko and Pianeta with Klitschko himself against Ibragimov. We all know the reception that fight got; it was absolutely panned. Nobody was saying 'but it's a masterclass from Klitschko, he pretty much won every single round!' They were saying 'this is why nobody cares about boxing anymore because this sort of thing is as appealing as going to the dentist.'

Now we can all say Fury against someone like Pulev or Parker is about the best we can hope for as a next opponent for Tyson. But what is likely to happen? Twelve rounds of safety-first Tyson. And that will probably go down badly.

The fury fans are going way overboard here and missing the point completely!

It doesn’t matter that it was Fury! It could’ve been Joshua/Wilder/Canelo/GGG/Mayweather or even Laurence ****ing Okolie!

So called boxing fans are cheering a decision that is to the detriment of boxing!!!!!!!!!! Why can you not get your heads round that!! It’s not a personal attack on Fury, Joshua (tightly) had criticism for his (or Eddies) part in previous Wilder negotiations.

And no it’s not about his deal. His deal didn’t mean he had to pull out, he could’ve said I’ll sign with you but that’s my first fight, if he’s that much of a star why are they going to pull the plug? Because a huge star wants to make one of the biggest fights in boxing? Don’t be silly.

See common sense. It doesn’t mean you’re a “shill” or a “matchroom/AJ/Hearn fan boy” it just means you’re a boxing fan.

    Scissors personally I agree
It's complete bs we as the paying consumers get held to ransom in this manner
Not justifing it in any way
    Just discussing the situation

And for the record I enjoy Fury
    I also enjoy AJ

I do however think Whyte is a bit of a knob

For me the reason they have gone overboard is because they were desperate for validation that Fury is this big superstar and he's cracked America. As soon as that deal was announced it was immediately onto here crowing about twenty million dollars a fight and how Tyson was this huge name. 'You don't need Joshua to make mega money and Tyson has proved it.' Poor old Hattonmad was apparently convinced it had ruined my day.

Then Arum calls the figures 'bullsh*t,' the Wilder rematch appears to vanish, and Tyson has gone from a fight any man anywhere anytime and money doesn't matter cos I give it all away hero to a guy who, at very best, might get Jospeh Parker next.

It doesn't mean the division is dead in fairness. Joshua could very well fight Wilder this year. Usyk will be in the picture soon. But if I were a Fury fan, I'd be gutted with it.

Who's celebrating Fury's deal? I'm yet to see it.

Plenty on here very happy to chime in about how great it was for Fury and how it confirmed he was a huge name in the States.

At the time I said the figures sounded too good to be true. Arum later came out and called them bullsh*t. Then the Wilder rematch fell apart. I said the deal would be judged on what happened with Tyson's career; let's face it, early signs are plainly very bad.

You regurgitate the same stuff constantly, it’s just the same old posts, same old content, same old points...every thread where Fury is brought up. It is so boring. For the record I do like some of your other posts on other boxing subjects but i’m afraid you’re getting very very repetitive with Fury.

Perhaps I'm just reacting to the same old stuff that the likes of you come out with about him?

How many threads have I started about Fury? None. There's plenty of chat on here about him, but I'd not be saying he's unpopular if it weren't for people coming out with stuff like 'all my Facebook friends were talking about him and he's going to sell out Old Trafford for his next fight.'

You were even saying you were, for once, interested in what I had to say after he signed his deal. Why?

I was interested, but i’ve heard it 10x over since. Like I said, I think you make some good posts on other stuff, but I think your utter contempt for anything Fury makes you very repetitive.

Never underestimate the Arum spin plus Arum still makes money with 5 mil purses for Fury, instead of hitting one home run he is going for multiple hits until he lands the home run..........multiple small purses plus one home run equal way more than one big home run.........he will dangle the Wilder carrot over every event Fury is involved in.

I've seen Benson tweet regarding Shelley Finkel interview.

Basically Shelley stated Eddie tried to negotiate but they were unwilling to meet Shelley's demand who is unwilling to negotiate on this demand and since then Shelley has no interest in talking or negoating about the fight. Shelley basically confirming the duck.

Surely Wilder can't keep the WBC belt hostage? Where is the Jesse Breaking Bad meme of "He can't keep getting away with this" meme when I need it?

It might not suit your agenda but Finkel actually said:

“He said ‘That’s fine with me’. He says ‘When do you want to meet?’ I said ‘I’ll send you an e-mail, I’ll look at my calendar’. I sent him an e-mail saying Friday 14 at 3pm. He never responded. I never heard from him. I come home that evening and on this phone – the answering machine – had a message from him, that he called at 3pm.

“So I called him 10pm that evening and said ‘Eddie, you never responded to my e-mail, you have my office number, you have my e-mail address, you have my mobile number – why didn’t you try any of those numbers?’ [Eddie says] ‘I can’t talk now, I’m in a restaurant,’ I said ‘OK’. He said ‘How about tomorrow?’ I said ‘What time?’ He said ’10am?’ I said ‘I will call you at 10am’.

“I called him at 10am, he never answered, never returned the call. That afternoon and evening Joshua is interviewed at MSG and he says ‘Look, what does the guy want? I’m giving him Wembley and I’m…’ – stop giving me. We’re not looking for a handout. We’re looking to make the right deal for the two fighters.
