    Follow up to Crowcroft's thread

    I'll start:

    - Lewis's power
    - Marciano's defense
    - Ali's ability to be caught
    - Liston's power
    - Tyson's chin
    - Vitali's chin
    - Wlad's stamina
    - Louis's power
    - Tua's everything
    - Lyle's chin
    - Wills' everything

I think that's overly harsh on Harry Wills. He's way past it in the footage of him.

Though some overrate his resume, I'd still consider him a very good overlooked fighter

For some reason Peter Jackson has a reputation as a puncher. He wasn't really.

They overrate him because they cling to ANYTHING they can hate Dempsey for. That's why the entire "fab four" of McVea, Jeannette, Langford (in a heavyweight perspective) and Wills are overrated

Even though I only see Wills beating a prime Willard and none of them beating Johnson or Dempsey. Guys like Fred Fulton, Billy Miske and Luther McCarty were equivalemt to McVea and Jeannette at the very least.

I've heard Vitali called the chin GOAT even though he really rarely got caught. A combination of his defense, power and imposement of his size. I think he's been hurt before at least.

Louis did not hit harder than Baer, Dempsey or Marciano. This is fact stated by multiple sources and I wish people would stop trying to deny it. Louis had awesome 1 punch knockout power, both those other three, especially Dempsey and Marciano, were absolute monsters.

Nothing about George Foreman's superhuman, bone shattering power?

I still dont see how its qualified to be called overrated..even if you see it that way it's still very very impressive to say the least

Wlad's stamina? Wlad has always been considered to have suspect stamina so how can he have suspect stamina if that's the case?

It's never brought up in his head to head matchups. Imo it's one of the reasons I find it nigh impossible to see him beat Marciano

Wlad makes up for his lack of stamina through pace control. He's an ATG in this department.

Cruiserweight Marciano would have as much of a chance at beating Wladimir Klitschko, as an Artur Beterbiev. Marciano's stamina advantage is irrelevant when he is that heavily outweighed and out-sized. Marciano would barely even be a cruiser today, much less heavyweight.

And that cruiser would still knock out the heavyweights

Also never compare Marciano to Beterbiev, there's such a skill and talent gap there that it's not even funny. Marciano would impose his power and pace in Wlad and break him down

Ingo's right. DeJohn and Liston could hit so much harder and still everyone talks Ingo's punch
