I always thought this fight would be a fantastic match up. As outlandish as it may seem I even see Toney perhaps getting a flash knockdown or two against Rocky, which keeps Toney in the fight all the way up till the around the 8-9th round.

Toney will quickly have to go into his defense and shoulder rolls, he is also a tremendous counter puncher, I seem him basically doing the same thing Moore did, but being much cooler headed .

Unfortunately the shoulder defense allows Marciano to well...hit your shoulder, and he will pound every part of Toney that he can hit, Shoulders, elbows, Forearms, Biceps, ..nonstop.....and they are crunching blows and it adds up, he will end up beating Toney into a mulch over time, although he may not land a blow on the chin for awhile.

It will not matter, Marciano will pulverize him until he wilts, and makes a mistake, then I think the corner throws the towell around round 9. You don't back into the ropes against Marciano, as a matter a fact, nobody ever beat him so we will never know what would have worked.

Great fight, and Toney will make Marciano look oh so beatable, but he will fall apart eventually.

With Toney (from Jirov fight) I think it looks similar to the Moore bout, except Toney doesn't have Moore's power.

Toney wouldn't deter Marciano, and would be swallowed by the pressure. He wasn't active enough.

Marciano eventually grinds him down with his work rate.

Toney's counter---the right hand, is not enough.

A nice lefthook counter or some great uppercuts from both hands would sure help. but that single right hand counter is not getting this guy off him. As a matter of fact, Rocky throws and lands after James hits him with the counter. Then, the Toney legs are in no position to fire again. So he eats leather. A lot of it.

So I see a bout consisting of a single right hand counter vs the 5 or 6 effective punches from this opponent. Tko stoppage as ref waves it off between the 7th and 12th round. And Toney takes a horrific beating.

Toney wins a majority of the early rounds with clean boxing but Marciano gets on top of him and sparks him out in round 8-11

I could see this being very similar to the Marciano vs Charles fights. Toney would definitely have his moments but I would lean towards the Rock out working Toney provided he doesn't get stopped by a cut.

Marciano by absolutely BRUTAL knockout. He would lose his arms in James fatass and hit him from head to toe. No dec. Knockout artists get knockouts even in fantasy fights.
