Lol. Positive drug tests don't even surprise me anymore. Everyone is on it. Kov was probably just dumb regarding his cycle and got caught.
Yes. I think that this might be an indication (if we even needed it, more like a confirmation) that Kovalev is very close to the end, not even giving a **** about something so easy as testosterone to evade. He'll have been using this from even before the start of his pro career, and now at the end he is tagged and all of the noobs will now throw the old "drug cheat" BS at him. The same people will be fanboying Dianabol Dubois. Another thing worth noting is that he didn't already have anti-doping in his back pocket, or wasn't willing to pay them off following the failed test.
That's one way of getting out of a pasting I suppose. I really fancied Melikuzievs chance in that fight.
Not saying happened this way but I think you could also make a case for him being stung? Its a corrupt game. It's possible a shady official/promoter/moneyman could have had the sway to force a test at an unusual time. I ain't saying he isn't guilty, but it as corrupt as ****. It is possible be signed a non testing deal and someone has had the power to send an official over. I do agree that they are all on drugs like. That's something I won't try and deny.
He signed a contract with DAZN for the canelo fight that guaranteed him 2 more fights on a good amount of money.
So there is a motive, a means and an opportunity. To be fair I'm not going to check under the carpet for bloodstains so
Kovalev has actually killed somebody in the ring and now gets caught juicing. Paints him in a very bad light. Living up to his reputation of being a nasty piece of work.
Depends on the wording of a contract. DAZN may still owe Kovalev two dates. A real shame as this fight was such an interesting one, his opponent is highly-rated.
