Could it be a candidate for the worst championship fight? Delay, Kovalev walking off first despite being champion, garbage boring fight and a bit of controversy in the end of top.
Most of them are jack of all trades master of none. The strikers tend to be much worse than the grapplers. There are grapplers that could compete at the highest level of the one particular grappling based martial art they specialise in. The strikers, not so much.
Had me pissed. Two scrubs fighting for a make believe belt, the BMF title, and i had to wait for that shh to finish? fukk dazn.
The only other high profile boxing match I can think of that started similarly late in the night was Pacquiao vs Bradley I, and that apparently was because Pacquiao needed extra time on the bicycle to warm up his calves. The delay tonight was an absolute travesty, and it was magnified more by the lack of a quality undercard, and the Garcia vs Duno co-feature ending in the 1st round. It got so bad, even the DAZN commentators, who were playing it "business as usual" for awhile, eventually had to own up that they were waiting for the UFC 244 main event to end before the Kovalev vs Alvarez fight would start. Seeing Kovalev and Alvarez pacing in their dressing rooms, and then alternately warming up, napping, and warming up again, was a disgraceful sight. I'm just glad neither fighter got caught cold early in the fight.
I don't need to fight, nor do I need to have a hard arse. I have indeed ****ed a mother though. Either way I got to see every fight I wanted live so I'm happy with that.
