I boxed for many years, then took many years off. As a kid I never warmed up and was fine. Obviously as an old guy now, I need to start warming up. However, I really don't know how to do it, so I just do some light shadow boxing, then jump into my training. However, I am getting this weird pain on the inside of my elbow. Not the hard side, but the other side, that actually bends. It kind of starts in the lower bicep and goes to the upper forearm. Any tips to warmup that area up? Thanks.

Elbow pain can be caused by the tendons running through the arm, both from the upper to lower AND the other way around.

Warming up can be done by activating your muscles (so curls for biceps, straightening for triceps, wrist rotations - no weights just motion).

Strengthening your grip is important as the forearm muscles attach to the humerus (upper arm) through your elbow. You obviously tense and rotate these when boxing. YouTube grip strength training.

While you're there, have a look at good stretches for your whole arms. It's easier to watch then to describe. Do these after your training for as long as possible.

Remember it's the weakest link in the chain that breaks so never exceed that point. Pain is the body's way of telling you that whatever is happening to it is damaging it.

I'd say a medical professional is a better person to ask but it sounds like you might have a bicep strain.

Its not that painful and I can do weighted pullups, curls, all those things without any issue. I think it has to do with not warming up. Back in the day I used to be able to sprint without any warmup. I tried that a few months ago and almost pulled my quad. This is a similar thing I believe.

I suggest you start jerking off with your opposite hand instead. Those shots can come out just as hard and farther.

I already jerk off with the other hand.
