I have been training for going on 2 years firstly for fitness, then i moved town and started at a amateur club and they got me carded and had first 2 fights at club shows, won them both, keen to box again but theres no more untill next season [september ]
a guy i know at another gym says could have a go at white collar boxing but not sure if its a good idea..

my question is basically to go for white collar boxing or stick with amateur..
im told at the amateur club to stay away from white collar because could get matched up with someone thats had loads more fights than they say they have had, and once you do it you cant compete in amateur boxing again.

hard to learn much from a fight that went well and the guy didnt seem to know how to box at all
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3bVuJ_4Fhg might want to mute it!
    any useful criticism be appreciated!

DO NOT DO IT!!!! It would be a shame to never be able to box amateur again. Also its not nearly as safe. You might get thrown in with someone alot better then you get injured and then have to deal with shitty doctors, or no doctors.

You can go back amateur at anytime.

Loads of amateurs have had white collar bouts before starting as an amateur or mix and match.

To keep things above board, and to avoid any hassle for your amateur club, you should give up your status as amateur with the ABA and then get another medical for next year. As long as your amateur coach declares your white collar experience there will be no problem.

oh ok my coach was wrong.. so just have to prove you didnt get paid for fighting in white collar? [maybe wrong but think you usually do right?]
this is the first rule in the long list..

Wouldnt put it as harsh as that haha, but yeah if you want to give it a serious go amateur boxing is the way forward. White collar is for city boys doing charity or people who want to show face to a few of there pals

I used to go to a gym years ago where they trained me for my first white collar thankfully it fell through because I look back on my skill level and it was scandalous I was being put in a fight especially as there was no guarantee the other guy wasn't far more experienced

I then joined a gym with great trainers , who all though there was plenty out there they would not put me out until I was ready. I look back and shudder at what could have happened

"Has never competed for money, staked a bet or
declared wager except for an approved Trust Fund
    or sponsorship, and"

    Page 47 then states:

"A boxer who has relinquished his professional
licence and has not had more than 4 professional
bouts may rejoin Amateur Boxing as a boxer.
He shall undergo a new 5-year or 1-year medical
examination before being allowed to compete".

So clearly the rules contradict themselves on this occasion. I will enquire about this as I do know for certain several former white collar lads now compete in Am boxing and they don't hide the fact they used to box white collar.

cheers man will work on that.
yeah going to stick to amateur.
rich c them rules talking about professional boxing do not apply to white collar! coach at gym is certain if the aba people found out you had been doing white collar boxing you will not be allowed to compete.
