He lost to Donald at the end of 97 and lost to Thunder in 1998, two straight Ls before Golota. He wasn't rated when Golota got him.
You know Tyrell Biggs had a serious drub problem right? Biggs lost to the 31-0 Mike Tyson, 21-0 Franseco Damiani, 31-0 Gary Mason, 21-0 Riddick Bowe, 17-0 Lennox Lewis, 27-1-1 Larry Donald, 12-0 Buster Mathis Jr, 19-3 Michael Hunter, 36-5 Tony Tubbs, and to the 12-1 Ray Annis. There is no shame in losing to any of these guys besides to Ray Annis. Also why would Biggs need to fight in a era with smaller heavyweights? Wladimir wasn't really physical and did fine with his career. Larry Holmes wasn't physical. Biggs wasn't as good as he could of been because he was addicted to cocaine Tony Tucker was 52-2 and ranked number 1 in the world when Bruce Seldon beat him.
Answer: Biggs had little power and wasn't strong like those guys. He wasn't using cocaine during his prime anyway, from what I know. Tucker was not rated in The Ring when Seldon beat him.
Right who cares what the ring rates somebody? Tucker was ranked number 1 by a official boxing body. So my point still stands. Also Biggs was using drugs since the start of his career and the guys he lost too with the exception of 1 guy were really top level fighters.
Right I don't think you understand what your own thread is about. You asked about the best heavyweights to never beat a top 10 guy. Then I name a top 10 guy Bruce Seldon beat and your response is well Don King was behind those rankings. Who cares. Tony Tucker was still rated number 1.
This thread is using The Ring only. Otherwise "top 10" would include 20-30 guys spread across the sanctioning bodies and idiotic rankings such as Tony Tucker at number 1 in 1995. I suggest you do the exact same thing with WBA rankings in a separate thread.
well you always need the gatekeepers. Or the guys that fit the bill of that great Mickey Duff quote about Coetzer----he loves guys that fight just good enough to lose
