I don't think Crawford shouldn't get praise and Khan at his peak was clearly levels above Crolla, however based on their last performance, Crolla > Khan
Like you said , you haven't seen every thread. Crolla has been compared to Ezzard Charles and has been called a world level win. Ive watched Crolla since he was on prize fighter. He's a basic level fighter. He had a good win over Barroso which he he obtained through toughness and grit , not skill. The two Linares fights took a lot out of him as he looked poor in his last two showings against nobodies. Like i said before , he was just a mandatory Loma had to get out of the way. Everybody has them. Loma doesn't need to be criticized for it , but he doesn't need to be praised for it either.
Rigo vs Loma was a mismatch like Mikey Garcia vs Spence; Loma is getting too much credit for that win. He was just too big. With that said, I feel Loma is #1P4P. He's as dominant a fighter as we will see in a while. Khan is a very live underdog this Saturday and I would not be surprised at all if Khan beats Bud. I've always said in a technical match, Khan is as good as anyone but the question is, is Khan still hungry? Crawford has to really impress to go to #1 spot on my list.
It’s interchangeable imo, depending on who they fight in a year.certainly they are the top two and I’m not really fussed who’s considered no 1 as it’s meaningless anyway.
FYI he was 23 when he fought Floyd and had just beaten Austin Trout before he fought Floyd. He didn't look green when he knocked down Trout and beat him that night. He was coming off wins vs Cintron, Mosley, Josesito Lopez, and Trout. Those were solid wins to bring into a Floyd Mayweather fight, wins that somebody who was green wouldn't have. It had more to do with him struggling to make the catchweight vs Floyd and not having his promoter during fight week. Canelo wasn't green when he fought Floyd, he just had the deck stacked against him and fought probably the best version of Floyd of the last decade. And he still fought well under very unfavorable circumstances.
Loma and Crawford's top six wins IMO and Loma's>>>Crawford's on quality alone even without factoring in all of the below Disclaimer: I'm just going by Boxrec stats here so don't shoot the messenger and I'm very tired so forgive any errors if there are any (I don't think there is) In no order Linares had at least 7 or 8bs on Loma, 3.5'' reach, 1'' in height Martinez had 7lbs on Loma, 1.5'' in reach, 1'' in height Pedraza had 8-9lbs on Loma, had 5.5'' in reach on him and 1'' in height Loma was 0.5lbs heavier than GRJ, 2.5'' taller, and had a 1.5'' reach advantage Loma was 1lb heavier than Walters but Walters had a 7.5'' reach advantage, both same height Loma was 137 against Rigo, Rigo was 130lbs the morning of the fight in his tracksuit. Loma had 2'' height advantage, Rigo had a 2.5'' reach advantage Crawford had 7lbs on Gamboa, a 9'' reach advantage, and 2.5'' in height Crawford had 5lbs on Postol, 0.5'' reach advantage, and was at a 3'' height disadvantage Crawford had 6lbs on Beltran, 7'' in reach, both same height Crawford had at least 5-7lbs on Horn IMO, 6'' in reach, and was at a 1'' height disadvantage Indongo was 2.5'' taller than Crawford, but was at a 2.5'' reach disadvantage Burns was 2'' taller than Crawford but at a 4'' reach disadvantage Loma has not only beat better quality opposition but he's usually the one who is at significant weight disadvantage, weighs the same as his opponents or literally a pound or less more than them and most of the time at a significant reach disadvantage and by a huge margin in a number of those fights, whereas it's the complete opposite with Crawford.
Must be high as ****, rigo was a joke of a fight. Dude that was sitting in his couch more often than not decided his zero was worth less than some cash. Rigo did not even try to engage and find a way to compete. That was on rigo not because of loma
I've told you like half a dozen times now that I actually quite like Crawford and rate him very highly. However, I keep seeing his fans trying to discredit Loma position as the P4P king and citing nonsense like this to bolster their argument Loma's quality of opposition Walters being inactive for 11 months Loma being a weight bully who is heavier than all of his opponents The fact that Crawford has beaten 2 Olympic gold medalists All of this is completely bizarre because 1. Loma's quality of opposition is very good and it's clearly better than Crawford's 2. Gamboa had been inactive for 12 months going into the Crawford fight and it was a complete mismatch in terms of size. Crawford had 7lbs in weight and 9'' in reach on Gamboa. And Postol had been inactive 10 months going into the Crawford fight and was at a 5lb weight disadvantage, reach 0.5 less than Crawford's. And both Gamboa and Postol fought Crawford in his country with 7 of the 8 officials being from the US. But oddly enough I didn't hear so much as a peep out of the Crawford fans or even his detractors about inactivity when he beat Gamboa and Postol, which was in complete contrast to the deafening chorus of the Inactivity song we heard from the Crawford fans after Loma whooped Walters' ass despite the fact that an awful lot of them picked Walters to beat Loma. They're still very quick to give us a few verses of the Inactivity song even today whenever Loma vs Walters gets mentioned. 3. And the irony of Crawford fans of all people accusing Loma of being a weight bully and beating up on smaller opponents (and I see an awful this a lot over on YT and other forums) literally couldn't be anymore priceless considering how Loma is usually the one who is at a significant weight and reach disadvantage or at worst with the exception of one or two times weighs the same as them give or take half a pound or even a whole one, whereas Crawford usually has a significant weight and reach advantage over his opponents with the exception of a handful of times. For instance check this out Crawford 74'' reach Khan 71'' reach Benavidez 73'' reach Horn 68'' reach Indongo 71½'' reach Diaz 67'' reach Molina 71'' reach Postol 73½ reach Lundy 68'' reach Jean 72'' reach Dulomre 73'' reach Beltran 67'' reach Gamboa 65'' reach Burns 70'' reach He's had a reach advantage over every single one of his opponents in world title fights How many times do you think T-Rex arms Loma has had a reach advantage over his opponents in his 13 world title fights, let alone a significant or freakish one like Crawford does? 4. And as for the Crawford beat 2 Olympics gold medalists argument so Bud>>Loma. Well that's almost as comical as the Loma's a weight bully and beating up lighter opponents one. For starters, Loma beat 2 Olympic gold medalists in one tournament alone and that same tournament that year he also beat a fighter who was a world amateur championships gold medalist, 1 x silver, and 3 x bronze medalist, and a European silver and bronze medalist (Dominic Valentino) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domenico_Valentino The 2 Olympic gold medalists he beat in that tourney are the reigning Olympic gold medalist at light-welterweight from 2016 Fazilddin Gaibnazarov who is currently 7-0 as a pro now. The Uzbek also won silver at the World Amateur championships too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fazliddin_Gaibnazarov And the reigning Olympic gold medalist at lightweight Robson Conceicao who also won silver and bronze at the world amateur championships and is currently 12-0 as a pro. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robson_Conceição Loma also beat the number 1 Cuban in that tournament that year who was an Olympic bronze medalist 2 x world amateur championships silver medalist, and 1 x bronze (Yasniel Toledo) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yasniel_Toledo And he also beat Jose Ramirez who was the number 1 US amateur and the current WBC light-welterweight champion. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/José_Ramírez_(boxer) That was all in one tournament in (the World Amateur Championships in 2011) And they were all naturally bigger than him too lol And one of the main reasons all those guys he beat don't have more golds, silvers, and bronze medals in major championships like the Olympics, World amateur championships, Europeans etc to add to their collections is, duh, because of Loma beating them lol And lets see if they still adhere to that argument if Loma fights Luke Campbell who in addition to being an Olympic gold medalist is also a world amateur silver medalist and a European gold medalist too. Campbell will be Loma's second opponent in the pros who is an Olympic gold medalist if they end up facing each other. And I'll always find time to speak truth and educate those who spout untruths (not accusing you of this btw) and disseminating irrefutable facts and sound logic and reasoning has a way of actually saving oneself time in the long run. And we ain't got nothing but time This content is protected A gift This content is protected
It's not like Lomachenko has been fighting a murderers row. He fought his best and only A level opponent like five years ago. Take away Russell Jr, and Loma's resume is comparable to Crawford's in how mediocre it is, for their level of talent.
Another diatribe from Serge. "I quite like Crawford" and then I spend 20 minutes telling you all the things he doesn't like about Crawford. As for "reach" Crawford can't really control that now can he. As for being a "weight bully" you complain about it and Chrissy Williams complains he ran from Prograis, Josh Taylor...……. Crawford simply can't win. But he just keeps winning and irritating you and Chrissy
