Hi mate, I havent seen this pic since I first saw it in an old Ring magazine in the 70s. I managed to google it up. Its a shocking eye injury. It almost looks like its fake, thats how bad it looks.

    Cheers.

They hated one another at the time. Add that hatred to the heat of the battle and that's how it escalated so far.

Duran/Buchanan... Duran used every foul known to man during that fight The finish was even more diabolical. The punch was way after the bell to end the round & was yet another blatant low blow. Ref LoBianco was questioned after the fight & STILL insisted the punch was on the bell & legal Ken was unable to continue so Duran was the winner. Film of that fight prove otherwise & the fact Ken was in hospital in agony with Ice packs on his family jewels

Do you really think they would rob Chang in Korea in favor of a foreign born fighter from Panama? It’s a very fair question.

    Bump.
Can't help but still feel disgusted by the Taylor vs Persoon fight. Huge highway robbery and a total disrespect to Delfine Persoon for flat out taking the fight and titles away from her. And to make matters worse Taylor was called BWAA Female Fighter of the Year of 2019 and it seems like a lot of people have already forgotten about this fight.

I was reading some older mags recently, and one fight from the late 70s/early 80s that was often mentioned then, but rarely now was the tragic Scypion/Classen fight.

Like Resto/Collins, someone needed to do time for letting Classen fight that fight, but it was a lot more complicated than Resto/Collins, so everyone had an excuse...

    obviously:
-RJJ’s loss in the Olympics ofc
    -also Holyfield 84

    kinda forgotten:
-Floyd Patterson vs Jimmy Ellis '68
    -Briggs vs Foreman
-Ali vs Norton II and III (not very clearly robberies but with a a big historical impact)

I remember a fight when a guy low blowed the other Fighter clearly 6 or 7 times before he even got warned from the ref. Sadly i don't remember the Fighters names. It was kinda ~middleweight?! That really pissed me off. That was more than controversial!

A few years back Maurice Hooker fought an ageing Darleys Perez and was awarded a draw, despite losing almost every round.

It was an undercard fight, so no one took much notice.

However, It was probably the worst decision I’ve seen in recent memory. It was bad.

Hooker was a rising prospect for Roc Nation at that time and has since boxed for a world title. He lost convincingly by KO last year but will likely get another shot in the near future.

Perez, on the other hand, had already boxed at top level, had several losses and was near the end of his career.

Nonetheless Perez brought his best and fought his heart out, no doubt hoping that a win would secure one last decent payday. He really deserved to win this fight. Denied.

    * Whoops! Didn’t realise I was in the Classic, thought this thread was in General. Still, it’s worth knowing about this decision if you didn’t get to see it.

Not sure there was any low blows. It's not very clear. Then consider that low punches are against the rules. Their considered fouls.
I just dont see Roberto Duran breaking the rules that way. One of the reasons he was a successful boxer was because he followed the rules. If you think you can win stay fair. Disappointed Buchanon has to resort to these accusations.
    Jonny Lobenacko didnt see anything.
