The guy is far more respectable than the likes of Fury or Wilder, but his record gets constantly nick picked at despite being easily the best record in HW boxing at the moment. People have accused him of ducking the likes of Wilder despite there being clear evidence now that it was Wilder ducking AJ. And who are you more likely to believe? Wilder? Despite being an egomaniac who makes constant excuses Usyk is a very tough fight, and Joshua hasn't ran away from it, the fight is now confirmed, proving if anyone should NOT be accused of ducking, it's AJ. Many people would consider Usyk the most dangerous fight AJ could possibly make at the moment as both Fury and Wilder are fighting each other. AJ didn't make excuses when he lost to Ruiz, despite there being reason to believe there may have been something going on in the background such as concussion, illness etc. When he lost, he just admitted his defeat. IMO AJ is the most respectable Heavyweight around, or at least one of the most respectable. His skill, his record and his character. P.S. I'm not saying he has no weaknesses, but I think he's all round the most respectable HW for his achievements and his character.
Unfortunately, he wouldn't get the respect. Haters would say Usyk is not a real heavyweight (too small for AJ)
The Usyk nuthuggers will make excuses for their fighter saying that boxing politics got in the way, & that Hearn & Matchroom conspired against him (even if AJ is able to KO him).
Why do people care so much about fighters that you guys think he needs respect from everyone ? Nobody will get credit from everyone, just accept it and move on. If Usyk wins, Fanboys will be mad and we all know that AJ has some of worst fanboys in the boxing right now. Probably top 3 all of time.
This might be another ruiz situation with joshua. So much to lose and not much to gain with this usyk fight, usyk has much less pressure than joshua does so he could win with ease.
Probably not, no. I think it's because Usyk isn't a big name. He's a great boxer and in a lot of boxing fans eyes he'll be respected to an extent. I think ultimately the fight which would redeem Joshua and give him back his beast mode aura is if he actually fights and knocks out Fury. Usyk is probably an ATG. I'd say if Usyk beats Joshua you couldn't deny him that title. Usyk has much less to lose than Joshua because many just see him as a cruiserweight and not big enough to handle the big boys at the top of the division.
To be fair Dorticos, Gassiev and Briedis if in good shape does have more chances to finish A.J in distance than Usyk and this will be only one alone way to win nice looking huge cash cow. While if about fanbase: it is normal that fanbase is nationalistic, hypocrite and tribal & heavily biased. When Usyk had beat Hunter ( in any other country except US this had ended via stoppage win ) and Gassiev with scorecards 120-108, 119-109 and 119-109 I never had dreamed that Usyk had whooped Gassiev ass. While if on Clenbuterol hometown business brand's cards Mr Clenbuterol had " won " GGG on Clen's judges cards with 115-113, 115-113 and 114-114 this according to rude and shitty tribal fans was " ass whooping " and Clenelo superiority " damn " proof. Rude, selfish and c o c ky fans posts, LOL.
Of course, at first if you dream to earn big money being punched in the face for a living you should have proper passport and proper promoter. LOL, this all is just business to enterain ppl. While even the same Bellew vs Usyk looks that had very good tickets sales and >800k ppvs sold and Usyk vs Chisora had not less attention than Whyte vs Pov I and II fights. Yeah, to be punched in the face for a living you should better be with proper origin, proper passport and promoters&managers.
A past prime 200lb fighter with injuries and has noticeably slowed down, is not gonna do much at heavy imo. That’s not hating on Joshua, that’s facts
Beat me to it. On the flip side, if AJ lost, he woukd become an overrated bum that got beat by a blown up cruiserweight.
