08-02-2011 First ever boxing class Boxing drills -- Negatives(Uncoordinated, clumsy); Positives (I think I have good reflexes as I was parrying jabs with some ease.) Conditioning drills -- Exhausting, but it wasn't that bad thanks to previous running sessions. I was quite shy. I'm a reserved person so it was kind of a bummer to deal with. It's a nice place with nice people nonetheless. I will buy my own gloves. The gloves stinks. I prefer it be my stink than others stink ahah. I was thinking of doing two strength training session per week, but I will drop them and do boxing classes instead. (4 per week). I'll focus on the boxing basics first and worry about strength later. Tomorrow will be interval session!
Skipped Wednesday's Interval session. Had tons of **** to do. 08-04-2011 40 mins of basketball with GF. Broke a sweat. ------ I bought 12 oz gloves.
08-05-2011 Boxing class It was easier this time on the boxing skills but harder on the conditionning drills. There was plank, push ups and burpees, etc. I'm not used to them yet. At the end we did HIIT training....it killed me. I need to get a grasp of the jab and straight soon.
08-08-2011 Boxing class Hitting the pads well is quite hard for me. How to get better at jabs, straights and hooks? I'm still wondering. Conditioning is hard as ****. We again finished with a HIIT workout (mountain climbers). I couldn't move so I had to take smaller steps. I hate that my body wants to stops before my breath.
08-10-2011 Interval session - 2 min shadow boxing - 5 min jog - (85 meters hill sprint, walk back) five times - 3 min jog to water fountains For the next time, I'm aiming to do 6 hill sprint interval instead of 5
08-12-2011 Boxing class Conditioning drills didn't hurt as bad today. Maybe I'm getting used to it...let's hope so. I've got to work on my footwork while punching (foot pivot and stuff).
08-15-2011 Boxing training on my own I just hit the heavy bag and did a little shadoboxing. I tried to get better at throwing the basic punches with the correct foot pivot.
08-17-2011 Jog I went jogging on my lunch break. About 2.3 miles in about 15 minutes. Next time I'll probably do more miles and more time. I'll definitely track the time. Boxing class I'm always learning new stuff. I'm always dead after the class. My foot pivot while punching is getting better. I need to work on my balance and work on not over extending while punching the air. It hurts my elbows.
I stopped everything because I had a panic attack regarding some personal stuff. I'll have to wait until the 16th of this month to see if I can continue with training or not. Right now I'm in no shape mentally or physically to train.
I'm back in the game. Weekly planning. Monday, Wedneday, Friday - Boxing Class Tuesday, Thurday - 30 to 60 mins aerobic training (120 to 150 heart beat per min) Saturday - Some kind of weight training (Rippetoe's SS or 5/3/1) Sunday - Jerk off In a month or two, I'll add more anaerobic stuff. If someone is reading this, what do you think?
I sucked today and missed boxing class, but I ran instead. 32 minutes run averaging a HR of 151 bmp. Trying to stay within 130 to 150 bmp is hard, I have to run quite slow to stay within the 130-150 bmp range, which isn't natural for me. I only ran 2.6 miles. LSD runs are boring as hell.
