In boxing as in other sports and in all walks of life finances are what career moves are all about , like it or not . This fight would be massive for DAZN . I think most people think Benn will lose when stepped up to world level so why not take the kind of money he would need 3 world level fights to earn especially when it’s clear he’d be lucky to win one of them. There are still big (ish) fights for him if he loses and if he puts in a good performance a rematch is nailed on. Too much money on the table to ignore imo.
There's too many ready made excuses on the table for whoever loses which spoils the spectacle completely. I hope Jnr nails him and does it in the style of which he dispatched with Yildrim, his career best stoppage.
Too many people giving Eubank too much credit for a dosser who’s had about 4 fights in the last 5 years and looked pony in every one of them. It’s a terrible fight anyway due to the size difference. It will just look ridiculous even at the press conference due to the stature of them both. Eubank will look like he died a fortnight ago if he cuts down to anything below 160. I’m in the minority of one in enjoying Benn’s fights and think he’s got potential and was looking forward to the potential Thurman fight but this is as unedifying as it gets.
I hope it's not true and what Hearn said about working on making Benn vs Thurman is. Benn is actually the more skilled fighter tha EBJR (good jab, good head movement and variety of punches). However EBJR has a massive size advantage and his old man's granit chin which will see him win this as it will an entertaining brawl while it lasts. I would (keegan style) "love it!" If Benn beat EBJR but I can't see him doing so.
Was chatting to my postman this morning and he says its signed, they're going to officially announce next week.
Excellent news, Can we let Conner win this so Benn finally gets a victory over Eubank and all this ends ?
