Wilder and PBC have tweeted that the fight has been signed, will be his next fight after Ortiz.

    Penciled in for early 2020.

Hopefully that is true. Would be great news. I wouldn't overlook Ortiz though. He looked like the much better man in the first fight.

This is what I was saying when everyone went into a meltdown about Fury-Schwarz and then most recently Wilder-Ortiz. Boxing fans have no patience.

I've suspected all along Fury and Wilder had some sort of agreement.

It’s always been the case. Literally when Arum signed Fury both men and Warren repeatedly told the media that the plan is for Wilder and Fury to have interim fights before rematching.

When the Fury-Schwarz fight was announced I posted here and said that people should only slate Fury if Arum’s promise turned out to be false.

In the end it looks like the rematch plan will materialise. In the meantime we will get a solid fight in Wilder v Ortiz and hopefully Fury will find a better opponent after Schwarz.

Hearn ends up frozen out again.

If this turns out to be true i’ll be chuffed to bits. People (rightfully) slated Fury for taking on Schwarz but I said at the time we should judge him on the fight after Schwarz. Fury got massively bingo’d in that fight...it takes months to get over shots like that. Let him have a decent run out and box Schwarz’s head off and let’s get back down to the big fights.
