I do think it would be best if they put on cards specifically for women. If it was on a Sunday for example I think it could gain it’s own decent sized audience, and cut out the resentment by a section of men (I’d watch it) I’m supportive of it but i am cynical about the reasons for broadcasters to put them on Saturday night cards, mainly them saving money.

Spot on. Having women on televised Sky cards is a rip off, plain and simple. And if anyone wants to argue about putting people there based on skill and ability then male junior boxers are far more deserving as the standard is much better. Would people be happy seeing that on a Sky Matchroom show?

Elite women's sports are not on the same level as mid tier 13-14 year old boys. That isn't some out of date, old fashioned, sexist opinion, it's a fact that is dictated by the physical difference between the two sexes and will always be the case.

I wonder if these people replying in here the way they are, when they go to work on a Monday morning and the lads are talking about the weekends football, do they berate them and call them names for only watching the men's games?

"Oh, so you watched Man Utd vs Liverpool but you didn't didn't watch Everton Ladies vs Arsenal Ladies? You are archaic sexist pig. Those games are just as exciting you know. You must really hate women"

    It really is pathetic.

My attitude towards women's boxing has absolutely nothing to do with my attitude towards women, only to boxing.
I started following boxing in the 1980s. There have been lots of changes to boxing since then, few of which are good. Most of the changes have been bad. Women's boxing isn't good.

All women’s shows shouldn’t be on Sky. It’s a subscription people pay a lot of money for.
If you are going for a night out at the boxing and paid 40-few hundred quid just for the ticket, you shouldn’t be subjected to that I’m sorry. In years gone by there wasn’t any less fights, them women’s fights would have been men’s ones.
If you buy a ticket for an all women’s night that’s a different story as you know what you’re getting and to quote Tony Bellew “it is what it is Koogs”

You’re right. I don’t care if women do it. I just don’t want to see it on a night of boxing I’m supposed to have looked forward to for weeks. I’d probably even watch the women’s nights and like you say, I’d be less down on the whole thing if it had it’s own shows.

Imagine being a young boxer putting the graft in and seeing someone like Ebony Bridges getting a fight on Sky just because she's got big fake knockers and turns up to weigh-ins wearing a thong. It's joke and it's not it's not people like me who've got a bad attitude towards women.

I'm echoing the sentiments of many on here, I'm all for woman's boxing but it needs to be done properly without gimmicks like ex female body builders with fake boobs and lad banter getting a World Title shot after beating 4 nobodies. There are some cracking female boxers out there and we've seen some brilliant fights and the more of that the better, something I think that can happen if it moves in the right direction.

I used to work with a girl who boxed and she used to say that she preferred working with men because a lot of the girls who she had trained with weren't serious enough about it and were bothered about their looks too much. I think it's only natural that in 2020 people are more self conscious about how they look and getting your face cut and bruised isn't always going to be that appealing to women, or men of course, there's more pressure on girls to look a certain way though. For me that and sexism are two of the biggest obstacles facing the women's sport but in the meantime better match ups, 3 minute rounds and maybe female fighters fighting 4-6 times a year too could help.

Precisely the response people who don’t think how they get told they must or they’re a ‘caveman/chauvinist/sexist pig’ would expect.

Yeah, as I was saying, from the little I see of it, women's boxing sucks. I agree with most of the above points.

...... hang on, I'm just off to google "Ebony Bridges".

I think womens boxing is rubbish....

    At the moment.

Yes they're not as skillful etc but the more exposure it gets the more young women will take it up, 10-20 years time there will be female fighters technically as good as the men as the skill pool increases.

(This is not meant as an insult to female boxers)

I'm not a bigot, a misogynist, small minded or insecure but I just can't get into woman's boxing, it's rubbish.
