I'm talking about the swarmers who skillfully cut off the ring and work their way to the inside, rather than those who just come straight forward.

    Rocky Marciano
    Joe Frazier
    Julio Ceasar Chavez
    Jake Lamotta
    Aaron Pryor

Are my top picks... maybe Roberto Duran could be classed as one?

I want to add a caveat here: there are guys who don't jab in great who are pretty awesome once they are in the inside (Jose Luis Castillo, Carmen Basillio)

Basillio was awesome once he got in range at slipping and hitting (watch his second fight with Saxton), but his range finding jab in was kind of weak, but once he was in range he was pretty skilled.

Frazier, Armstrong, and Duran are considered the apex of swarmers.

    Greb.

By the way, I talked to an 88 year old ex boxing-trainer a couple of months ago, and he said that the modern fighter most like Greb was....... Calzaghe! Both relied on extreme stamina and throwing punches from any angle.

I know it's been asked a dozen times, but is the difference between a swarmer and an in-fighter simply the volume of punches while pressuring in close?
