Coming from a big shogun fan..... It sounds like excuses excuses excuses... In what fight particularly do you think they would have help Shogun?
it's way too violent for north america, mma already has a lot of negative stigma, but I see no reason that knees to the head of a grounded opponent can't be legalised
How people can say no to stomps and soccer kicks then say its ok for knees to the head of a grounded fighter is a bit mad. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5MMgaVtiYc[/ame] In my opinion Stomps, kicks and knees should be allowed its up to the ref to spot when they are getting dangerous and the fighter to protect himself from them.
There's no chance of this happening unless Shogun goes back to Japan. The UFC watered down itself enough to make it palatable to the media and to allow it to expand. Soon as you see soccer kicks and stomps in a cage and the UFC would be relegated back to its niche from the early 90's. Personally though im more than in favour of soccer kicks and foot stomps.
man i would love soccer kicks and stomps it would make the UFC much more entertaining less lay and pray i think would occur
I agree with soccer kicks and up kicks but no stomps and knees to grounded opponents. To me at least stomps seem much more brutal than soccer kicks.
Yeah, before the unified rules, MMA could only be sanctioned in Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia and Alabama and was banned from PPV. John McCain's crusade in the 90s almost succeeded in eradicating the sport from the U.S. If they hadn't changed things up, I doubt that the UFC or any of the other U.S. MMA orgs would even exist today.
