Not televised, really of no importance whatsoever James "Mandingo Warrior" Kirkland had his first fight back since his most embarrassing loss not only of his "0" but of his sterling reputation of a big bombing prospect. A first round KO, which was to be expected from the caliber of opponent James is back on the right track, with Anne Wolfe in his corner. A few more rounds would have done him good, but you can't have everything when you have anger problems in the ring. If you are a true boxing fan, you will be happy to hear such news, James is plain ol' fun to watch. Not the best boxer more than likely has a weak chin but he comes to fight. I hope to see more of him real soon rebuilding a career and hopefully giving us some good fights on his road through the rankings.
James Kirkland is definitely fun to watch, but he gets hit with the kitchen sink and everything leading up to it.
Love watching Kirkland fight, its kill or be killed with him and he never leaves the fans bored, win or lose.
Missed this, Looks like they have done no work on his defensive skills, hope they do he looked a tiny bit shook by one punch. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAKP6jJnIjU[/ame]
Honestly, I think Kirklands career is going to mirror Edison Mirandas. Just imo. Really like both fighters regardless though.
Yea I could see that, honestly though let's hope he stays out of SMW, not a good place to be. In all other aspects sure, we can watch him try to get it on with Maravilla if they are careful with his career from here.
that was actually a pretty good fight until that guy realized he was suppose to lose and took two knees.
Blah, the guy's flat-footed and wild. Ishida exposed him. I can't see him doing much really, though at least he makes a fight out of it. That will keep him on TV for a while at least.
Not impressed. Giovanni Lorenzo sparked Sharpe way back in 2005 (2004?) in less than a minute and Sharpe has lost every fight since then and he was giving Kirkland far too competitive a fight.
Competitive?? Don't think so. With his style Kirkland is always likely to get hit. No idea where his career will go but I'll keep watching him that's for sure! I'm glad he's back with Wolfe. They might not focus on skills but it does not matter as long as he is ready to fight for 12 rounds with killer instinct.
Yea I agree with that, and being a boxer myself I would be glad to vouch that when you throw constantly, you're going to get hit more often than not, unless you're defensive then name of the game is hit him harder and faster(pac man vs. Margo) and get the W.
Kirkland has Wolfe back in his corner and their undefeated together. Kirkland has only one loss and fluke one at that. Glad he is back.
