Burns-Martinez we were all just shitting it that Burns would get caught again.

Froch/Kessler is well overrated, have no idea why so many people had it as their FOTY. It's being the best fight of the Super 6 but that's not saying much.

The Gatti/Ward trilogy is also extremely overrated, the first fight was certainly very good but the other two were pretty one-sided with Ward having his moments.

Tyson vs Holyfield 1 was the Rings fight of the year and I know it had incredible hype going in, and again when it was over because of the underdog getting a big win. But if you watch it as a stand alone fight it's not that good and is constantly being stopped by the referee for various fouls which breaks up the flow of action and spoils fights alot for me.

Kessler/Froch wasn't outstanding, but had great moments, same with all of Froch's fights. It was probably ruined because my dad was whining like a **** that night I think, so he probably ruined it a bit.

Know what fight that gets zero talk that I loved? Sam Webb vs. Anthony Small. I legit "YES"'d when he won that fight. Was so ****ing happy for him. Wasn't FOTY or anything but **** it was a great night. Big fan of Sam Webb, hope he can come again.

Audley vs Wiliams 1, I never understood all the clamour for this.

I dont know if I'm right saying this, but I think one of Spinks's fights with Holmes was FOTY, I mean, if that's true, how on earth did one of those fights get to be FOTY? both were pretty boring imo.

I kinda agree and disagree about the Tyson fight, although you're right, it probably shouldn't of been FOTY, although it could of been a candidate, purely based on the historical significance. I guess whilst it wasn't a great fight, as there was a lot of holding, it wasn't a bad fight, and that coupled with its notoriety, is what makes it what it is?

Eubank/Benn II and Ali/Foreman. Those were great EVENTS, but average/poor fights.

Kessler vs Froch was so sloppy it was unreal. It wasnt good at all, hell I didnt think it was close either.

Gatti vs Ward III is good.

    100% agree.

Anyone guess what fight I'm thinking of?

I watched a Russian copy of the Paul Williams vs Martinez 1 fight, and I did't think it was as great a fight as its made out to be personally, anyone else feel that, or was it just me?

It might just be that I didn't get the same feel for the fight watching in on a foreign telecast, I dont know.

They did a retrospective on all their fights of the year and pretty much said it wasn't a fight of the year calibre fight, but got it more on the occaision. It wasn't a bad fight, it had its' moments and an electric atmosphere, and an incredibly dramatic finish too, but it wasn't a great fight as I said with all the holding, fouling and ref interuptions. I found that to be the case for Hatton/Tyszu, though it isn't considered a great fight, it was alright but too mauling and stop/start for me to really enjoy it.

I thought Eubank vs Benn 2 was a very good fight, slightly below the first one but still quality. Foremann vs Ali I agree, I've always thought that the rumble in the jungle was highly overrated as a fight when removed from it's historical significance, of course that's what made it so famous, but as for action it's Foreman brainlessly slugging away and Ali covering up then an exciting last 20 seconds.
