So? If even Brits who know a bit can see the truth ... ah, well, who am I talking too ... to you guys fighters who throw a lot of pitty-patter punches to the forearms the whole night win fights. And yeah, those two guys had it big for Mackl, so? Just proves they are incompetent when it comes to scoring a bout. I heard their reasoning ... as if they never heard of the criterias after which a round is supposed to be scored. Anyway ... your guy lost, stop whining like a little girl, look forward to a rematch and get over it. I really hope not all of England is as whiney as you guys here are.
When they anounced the scorecards t was a case of saturday night at the comedy club because that was a joke. Another disgrace was the time they allowed for sturm to keep Macklin waiting there is showmanship and then there is taking the **** and he was the latter
That's why Klitschko never fights outside Germany. He knows if Haye doesn't knock him out he has it in the bag. bodhi (German) expressed it best, if you are unhappy about it you are whiney.
I can´t believe that so many scored it for Sturm. You can´t deny, that Macklin outlanded Sturm 3 to 1 ( power punches and total punches landed even more). Macklin also worked very well to the body and many people underrate that in scoring. I agree, that Felix had the clearer shots, he´s the technically superior fighter between the 2. But you can´t stand for 3 minutes, your opponent hit you like 20, 30 times clear, you landed a few jabs and a right hand and get the round. And Felix also did block many punches, but for example the body punches landed at will, that was also why he wasn´t so mobile (footwork). And I also don´t understand why people always say "I gave this round to him because of the champ- bonus...", back in the days there wasn´t anything like that, the only advantage there was, was that if it was a draw ,that the champ still had the belt. Now some robberies are explained by being a close fight and giving all the close rounds to the champ, it doesn´t work like that. And Sky, of course they try to sell the fight to the fans that it was close, otherwise many ( the non hardcore boxing fans, which are most) would boycott boxing in the future. It is really sad, I gave Sturm 4 or at the best 5 rounds, and I´m not biased or so. It wasn´t a robbery in the highest order, but we ( I) saw a close, but clear decision win by the Irish.
I think some rounds were really hard to score, but with that being said, i just can't see how Sturm won this fight. I had 3 rounds where i couldn't separate them (6th, 8th, & 10th). And i scored rounds 1 - 2 - 3 - 7 - 9 for Macklin. While 4 - 5 - 11 - 12 for Sturm. There is no frikkin doubt who is the more talented boxer of the two, (and it's def not the irish dude, he looks very limited). But there also isn't any doubt who made the fight tonight... (the irish dude did). And even though i only scored it by one round for Macklin, i still have a really hard time understanding how they could give the decision to Sturm. I probably wouldn't call this a flat out robbery, but the decision still leaves me with a pretty bad taste in my mouth.
Thankfully, we're not. :good The comments in the below thread in the Brit forum, are sensible enough: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=322609
Watt is a notoriously poor scorer. Plus, when it's an away fight, he doesn't actually score from his own point of view, he scores on what he thinks the judges in Germany would do. Like in Haye-Valuev, he said something along the lines of "Haye only landed 4 or 5 punches in that round, fighting in Germany you cannot win rounds landing 4 punches, so I give that round to Valuev (who landed absolutely nothing).atsch
Which is what? A punch only counts if it's accompanied by the cheers of a partisan crowd? If you're a real boxing fan then don't tell people not to 'whine' when they see a bad decision. It's bad for the sport.
Not a megascale robbery, but ****ed up scores for sure and corrupt cheats. And what about keeping macklin in waiting for half an hour after he entered the ring, that shits ****ed up
And why are they always so stupid (in this case Sdunek) and say before the last round " If you win that round, you win the fight", he can only say that in a close fight, when he knows the scorecards ( except if Felix would have been KO´d), even a layman knows what that mean...
