And? Because Jon watt is ancient and a lot of us guys on here are relatively young does this mean because of his age by default Jim can call a fight better than us? The fact he's forgotten more than us "****s" know is irrelevant. There's some knowledgable young posters on here. You're an old **** though aren't ya icemax?
im from the same city as watt , used to like his commentary but now its just a depression...negative , negative negative i hope sky use somebody else next week darke and mccrory rawling is terrible aswell , hes all over the place when it come to scoring
No worries mate! Would like to see mcewan in against someone like macklin would make for a good fight
What is it with the Scottish inferiority complex on here. I don't dislike Watt because he's Scottish or I doubt his boxing knowledge. He comes across like a bitter whinging ****er. To say he's forgotten more about boxing in the last 5 minutes then we'll ever know is shite when it comes to analysis. He gets his share wrong like everyone else. He should try being a little less dogmatic.
Jim is a moron but you gota understand that these guys are paid to be 'rimmers' for sky. They cant say downplay Brook because how else are they gona get the casual viewing to tune in, they have to big him up. I know one of the Sky commentators personally and their personal views are different from what they say in the MEDIA.
When was TV sports commentary any good? It's pretty much shite in every sport. The BBC is worse than Sky. Pretty much no TV sports pundit can say what they think in any country except Ireland where they say whatever the hell they like about English sport because they are far enough removed.
I've no doubt jim watt is a nice guy and knows boxing. But he can't call a fight live. Sometimes it's just so repetitive what he says. But his sturm is quality and macklin is just working hard take on the fight was so wrong, and for such a "knowledgable" guy, it's hard to believe that he missed the intelligence of how macklin fought the fight. But let's not forget British guys who fight on the world scene should be grateful for their opportunities, and just take their pay days shouldn't they?
Got to disagree with most of this in the same way I disagreed with those who criticised Andy Gray when it came to football. It's subjective isn't it. I think Watt really knows his onions and although you might disagree with some of the stuff he says it hardly makes him a 'decrepid old ****'!!! Let's be honest, he got this spot on. I thought it was a closer fight than the 116-112 cards suggested but Watt called it and it went against Macklin.
20 years and still can't call a fight 20 years and still missing simple things in the fight. Couldn't spot sturms jab not working because of intelligent pressure from macklin. I'm not saying he doesn't get some things right, but he is no where near viewer friendly
