"Floyd Mayweather sells more PPV's because he's American"

    My point is this:

    - The Oscar vs Floyd fight did huge numbers because Oscar has always been the golden goose, and they marketed that fight amazingly well

    - Pacquiao would outsell Floyd a million times over in an Asian nation, far more than the US and the UK

    - Obviously Floyd has an advantage in America... he's American. It doesn't even make sense to dispute this. Pac would have the same advantage in his home country as well

    - I really don't care too much about this issue, Pac is the p4p#1 and the official Fighter Of The Decade for the 2000s. I care much more about boxing than 'popularity'. I know which I prefer between higher ppv numbers or the superior boxing career. :smoke

Why do you "haters" argue with a guy who lives in Floyd's hometown ( Michigan Warrior). I know a female who's a rapper from there that go by the name Sarge the Dame says the exact samething. Floyd said himself it was rough at times and he lived in a house where there were seven people in a two bedroom house.

Oscar De La Hoya sold far, far more PPVs than Roy Jones did.

Who had the superior career - Roy or Oscar?

    Exactly. That's what matters dumbass.

No-one is arguing with him, merely reading what he himself wrote. He said Floyd was lower middle class. That doesn't sound like Dangerous Minds to me, and it certainly doesn't sound like 7 people living in a 2-person house. That's a weird kind of lower middle class. Take it up with MW.

Yet Oscar vs Pacquiao did half that. Hell I think Mayweather vs Mosley did more then Pacquiao vs Oscar.

Charging 50 bucks a pop. You think Floyd would be outsold millions in asia. You do know that 1/3rd of chinese barely earn a dollar a day. You do know how filipinos watch Pacquiao fights dont you? That his fights are free at movie theaters?
Floyd outsells Pacquiao in Britain. Floyd is not British. Has no connection to Britain. Just stop it.

    I.e "I have no argument"

Hey popkins, did you know if a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao happed today, Mayweather would be the favorite?

That means bookies, and most people view Mayweather has the better fighter.

The media like Pacquiao's 60 minute specials, want Pacquiao to be more popular, want him to be the better fighter, as to why he won fighter of the decade, despite having 3 losses in the decade.

But you cant fool the public.

    Ouch. Does that sting?

American media dominates the planet - they can push competitors more. Most of the highest grossing fights involved American fighters. Lets face it DLH fights earn the big bucks. He's a very successful promoter and businessman, Floyd has achieved a great deal because of his association with DLH.

How many of the high grossing fights involve Asians? There is a bias, perhaps its a language thing. Pacquiao's is a non-native english speaker, so thats a barrier for many people. You go to Asia and its a different story, cultural differences. America is a wealthy country and can promote their fighters, but they don't hear as much about Asian boxing or third world boxing.

Floyd's family connections helped him in his career. Where he lives in Michigan is not one of the worst places in the US. He had a relatively comfortable and trouble free upbringing, i've read his biography its well documented. Pacquiao grew up homeless on the streets of a third world nation, Kassim Ouma was forced to fight as a child soldier in a guerilla army in Uganda. There are bigger hard luck stories in boxing.

Umm my family was lower middle-class. Working class. I wasnt poor. But we lived pay check to pay check.

And I went to a bad school, that recently had a shooting 2 years ago and now has metal detectors.

You obviously are just making a fool out of yourself here.

And the American media pushes Pacquiao hard. Pacquiao is on talk shows constantly and had a 60 minutes special devoted to him. In terms of being an athlete you cant get much bigger then that. However the public at large isnt buying it.

And it still doesnt explain him out shining Pacquiao in the British market.

I wont debate the Pacquiao had a far rougher life then Floyd. But Floyd grew up in the ghetto. He might have been shielded from its worse elements being constantly in training, but he grew up around it and no doubt saw bad stuff. I grew up sheltered in the ghetto and I saw crazy **** happen anyway. You cant avoid it.

If we were talking about Floyd fighting Oscar at middleweight maybe you'd have the advantage.
